Alyssa walked towards the servants" quarters in a daze. She clutched her torn s.h.i.+rt with both of her hands, keeping her bag pack in front of it. Her hair was messy, covering her face and her back. She silently walked towards her quarter, hiding from the approaching servants. She quickly went to her room and locked the door from inside. She slid down, leaning against the door and it was then the dam broke. She started sobbing but soon her soft sobs turned into heart-wrenching wails. she was a poor soul, alone in the world. She had no one to share her happiness or sorrow. She wanted a shoulder to cry on. She kept on crying. She looked at her wrist, she could see their fingerprints on her skin. It was glaring red. Alyssa wanted to slide a blade on her wrist along these glaring red lines. She felt cheated, miserable, lonely, and hurt. She wanted to erase this memory by drowning in a pool of blood, her pool of blood. After a long time, she stopped sobbing, but was hiccupping now and then. Alyssa stared at her wrist and at their fingerprints without blinking her eyes. She touched the marks on her hand lightly with her fingertips. She started rubbing and scratching it. Fresh tears pooled in her eyes and it slid down on her blood-stained face.
The air around her started howling. Alyssa felt a strong current swirling around her. Her books, her beddings, everything was thras.h.i.+ng here and there in her room. Alyssa became scared, she wanted to control it. She panicked. But instead of controlling it, the current became stronger and out of control. Alyssa hugged her head on her knees and started s.h.i.+vering. She didn"t want anybody to know about this. She didn"t want to be called a witch or a cursed person and to be burned alive.
She was hugging her head when a bracelet of her nanny flew towards her. She glanced at the bracelet and took it into her hands. Her emotions calmed down followed by the current around her. The air became still as if nothing had happened at all. It was only because of the scattered items all over the place, Alyssa could tell that she was not going insane.
Alyssa clutched the bracelet near her heart and kissed it. She got a way to control her emotions. Holding the doork.n.o.b, she stood up from the ground and walked towards her tiny bathroom. She was feeling dirty. She went towards the only tap in the washroom and sat below it. Ice-cold water washed over her but she didn"t s.h.i.+ver at all. She kept was.h.i.+ng till the tap ran dry. She stood from her place and went towards her broken, rusty, yellow mirror. That"s when her pair of eyes met an unfamiliar pair of eyes. Her heart skipped a beat. She closed the distance between the mirror and herself and wiped the mirror with her arms. She thought the light was playing the trick. She wiped it once again but it was the same unfamiliar pairs of eyes staring at her. Alyssa"s eyes have changed. It was not grey now. It had specs of lightning blue in it. Its color was the same as that of lightning that killed the three men.
Alyssa rubbed her forehead in anxiousness. She ran her fingers through her hair in stress. It was then she saw a lock of silver hair present among her brown hairs. She parted her hair and saw a lock of silver hair just right behind her left ear. She tried pulling it but it was real. It was her own hair. Alyssa went out of her bathroom in that torn wet clothes to find scissors to cut her hair. She found it lying below her books in a mess. She took the scissors and cut her silver locks. The silver locks fell into the ground, turning brown. But the remaining silver lock present grew again reaching below her waist. It was even longer than her brown hair and was very much noticeable. She again cut her silver hair but the result was the same. Her silver hair again grew out reaching below her waist.
Alyssa sighed. She picked her clothes from the mess that she made earlier and changed her clothes. She wiped her hair and started cleaning her room. She made her bedding and sprawled on it. It was then it struck her, she had powers. Like a mage, she was powers. The same powers that became extinct centuries ago. She sat on her bedding and looked at her hands. She smiled but as soon her memory of her killing three men flashed before her eyes, her smile stiffened.
Was she guilty of killing them?
Absolutely not. They deserved it. Raping was a sin. And for Alyssa, her reputation was the borderline. She had nothing beside her chast.i.ty so she preserved it.
Alyssa took her silver lock from behind her ears into her hands and twirled it in her fingers. She liked this color very much. But she knew that her eye color and the silver strand will attract unwanted attention as well as troubles. Thinking of ways to hide her hair and eye color, Alyssa went into her dreamland.
"Two children were playing with their dolls. One of them had black hair and black eyes and the other had silver hair and lightning blue eyes. Both of them had the same facial structure. Both of them were fair, with milky white soft skin and rosy cheeks. The girl with blue eyes was wearing a white dress and the one with black eyes was wearing a deep purple, almost black dress. The two girls were so much opposite. There was a clear contrast between them but sisterly love can be seen in both of their eyes. Suddenly a boy from nowhere came and s.n.a.t.c.hed the doll from the blue-eyed girl. She started crying. The black one smacked the boy from behind. A black ray coming from her palms and striking the boy on his chest. The blue-eyed girl went towards her sister and smiled with tear-filled eyes. The scene changed. It was a battleground. Two women were standing against each other. One had blue eyes and the other had black eyes. The black-eyed girl strikes the blue-eyed one on her chest near her heart. She fell on the ground, blood dripping from her mouth."
Alyssa woke from her dream. She felt a burning sensation in her heart as if someone had torn her flesh out. She rubbed her chest and looked outside the window. It was still dark. Alyssa sighed. She again had to spend a sleepless night.
