Battered Young Miss

Chapter 41

When the Zhang heiress arrived at PaoYin District prison, it was around the time when sporting activities in the courtyard was coming to an end, the male guards handed her off to one of the female guards, who then told her that she would not be joining the others in the courtyard, but will remain in her cell till lunchtime. It was almost an hour left before lunch, at the hospital she was told to eat more and was given a couple of meds along with some appet.i.te stimulants.

Zhang Mi took the white paper bag containing the meds into the prison after the guard had thoroughly searched her from head to toe with probing hand movements across her body. Half limping from the bandages on her feet which had many blisters that required treatment. Zhang Mi walked alongside the guard, who pulled out a bunch of keys to open the prison bar. When the guard saw the inmate was already in, she fished out the keys again to lock the cell door. Turning around to walk back to what she was doing, before the Zhang heiress came.

Zhang Mi looked around the room which had little leg s.p.a.ce, as she struggled to climb up the upper creaky metal bunk that was her usual sleeping spot.

When she finally made it through, she sat on the green linen protected bed, as the event of the last few days played in her mind. The dark pretty eyes drastically took on an ugly look, which mirrored the fury that consumed her mind. The dark flames within the Zhang heiress made her restless and unable to sit still, as she turned to the faded green walls to unleash the burning anger within, by hitting her fists against their solid skin.

Already in pain, the force of her knuckle against the wall, tore the skin from the delicate pale fingers with blood sipping from the open cuts. Numerous dark red spots appeared at the back if her hand, within a few minutes they were starting to turn a tinge of purple.

Although, Zhang Mi felt the pain from hitting her fist against the wall, her right hand throbbed with the impact, but she bit hard on her pale pink lips from shedding tears.

Instead, the Zhang heiress laid her head down in bed, clutching both hands to her chest, with her knees slightly bent for comfort.

Probably tired or in a need to escape her reality, the Zhang heiress finally succ.u.mbed to the soothing arms of sleep, within the dreary room that was unfit to live in, without a fan or any cooling device, the only source of air came through the exposed prison bars, whose one directional air carried with them the stench of unwashed bodies and dirt from bare floors that hadn"t being washed in weeks.

The chattering voices from the other inmates woke the Zhang heiress from her slumber, having her sleep disturbed so soon, made her rise from the bed, as she looked at the three women conversing among themselves, glaring at them with bloodshot eyes.

None of them paid her any attention, so engrossed were they in their discussion, talking about random trivial things. It wasn"t that the Zhang heiress had anything in particular against them, but they knew that she was in the room, as her exposed back could be clearly seen from the entryway. Extremely upset by their action, the Zhang heiress with tightened lips forced out some words in thinly veiled anger.

"Excuse me! Can"t you see I"m trying to get some sleep?!"

That was when the three faced her, they had on identical "I don"t care att.i.tude" on their sullen faces. Their eyes narrowed with deep dislike for the Zhang heiress. Zhang Mi could not see herself, since there were no mirrors in the room, if she could, her s.h.a.ggy hair along with her facial expression would have caused her to jump back in fright.

One of them, the more robust one, chose to speak, "You think you are still a wealthy heiress?! You better drop your stuck up att.i.tude! Don"t even think for once, that you are untouchable, because the head guard likes you! I"m itching to beat the c.r.a.p out of your as being a$$!"

Struck speechless by the derogatory tone of the inmate, the Zhang heiress saw red, her eyes flashed in rage at being spoken to in such manner. It wasn"t her choice to make in going to prison, neither was she trying to pull "airs" with any of them. They were only being rude to her and making her feel that someone"s twisted feelings for her was in one way her fault. The Zhang heiress hand folded tightly in rage, the veins by her temple starkly stood, as the urge to hit them senselessly resonated deeply within her.

"Take back what you said!"

After Zhang Mi shouted at them, that was when all h.e.l.l broke loose.

The three women rushed at her, their hands grabbed her by the foot, arms and chest. Forcefully pulling her down from where she was, the Zhang heiress fell hard on the floor, as they clawed at her face, which she desperately tried to protect by s.h.i.+elding them with her arms, but today just wasn"t her lucky day.

When they saw what she was trying to do, two of the slimmer inmates held her arms on both sides, leaving her face defenseless from the punches of the more robust inmate. PaoYin prison never allowed their inmates to wear any type of footwear unless using the shower, which had a non -skid slippers inside each stand to prevent falls from the slippery concrete floors. After showering each inmate had to personally hand them to the guard waiting outside the bathroom door.

The purpose of this was to avoid prisoners beating each other up with their foot covering.

Each strike across the Zhang heiress face left a big deep red mark across, as she screamed in pain from the punches. This drew the attention of the guards as the door to their cell became unlocked. Walking in along with the rest of five other guards was the head guard, who looked extremely displeased by what she saw. When the inmates saw that the guards were already in, they knew that their action spelt trouble for them. No sooner had the Zhang heiress being freed from their clutches, her head fell forward as she coughed out blood and loose teeth from her mouth.
