After setting her down, I went to the small basket I"d woven out of dried branches(Skippy"s basket making tutorial is too horrible a thing to put here), and grabbed some of the food I"d collected, dried nuts and apples from nearby. Also what kind of Forest has maple trees and apple trees together? The maple trees are s.p.a.ced pretty widely, but the apple trees only grow on the hill my dungeon is on.
I shook my head, throwing those thoughts to the wind, and grabbed an white apple with gold veins, plucked from a "Sun Apple Tree", so essentially a light-essence evolved apple, and considered if it could help her situation.
Eating these myself didn"t do anything remarkable(I don"t know why), but it does feel like something oughta be possible.
Experimentally I brought it over, and thought about what light elemental spells I had.
Sacred Flame also involved the fire element as a purifier, but that wouldn"t go great with a plant not based in fire. Healing Light ought to be pretty good for this though... hmm.
"Maybe...?"
I tried casting healing light, but not exactly on the apple, but more IN it. I took the formation of essence that easily came to me, and sorta... built the structure within the apple.
To my surprise, there was a visible effect, as the golden veins in the apple began moving to replicate the formation of energy, and finally it stopped.
I could feel the light energies in the apple flowing along those veins to create a gently core of light within itself.
"YES! I enchanted an apple! I officially just made a golden apple of Healing, like in Minecraft!"
However, I also noticed that doing this cost 4 times the energy as a normal Healing Light, so about 20 MP.
I then paused. "Wait what the f.u.c.k is Minecraft again? I think it was a game? With... blocks? And... YouTube? No wait... gah... it"s slipping away..."
"Well... apparently that game had Golden Apples that healed you, so I guess my memory connected that briefly."
I looked at the neko in concern, but she slept on regardless of my shouting.
I went into the menu and had it eat the goblin, and noticed that it cla.s.sified the Neko as an invader, and actually set the threat high enough to generate 1 DP each hour!
I laughed lowly to myself. "I guess I achieved my original objective after all? Though if I"d taken the wolf or goblin prisoner it might"ve been higher... agh too late now. Next time I"ll start building cages."
Next I checked up on my profile, noting that my Mana has already regenerated. I also saw that the Techniques submenu was no longer grayed out, and that a little "!" Was on the spell casting menu, indicating something had happened.

FoxFire II [Proficiency 42%]
Healing Light II [Proficiency 8%]
Sacred Flame I [Proficiency 12%]
Techniques
Vital Targeting I [Proficiency 11%]
Dagger Arts I [Proficiency 0%]
Sprint I [Proficiency 24%]
Dodge I [Proficiency 0%]
"So my Healing Light went up a level, and I got the techniques of Vital Targeting by aiming carefully while taking out the wolf"s leg, and Sprint for carrying stuff at high speed?"
"I bet my dodge and dagger arts are there at 0% because I haven"t used them, but I already have knowledge of evasion and how to wield a knife."
Note to self; use knife more.
I decided now was probably a good time to implement some upgrades now that I"d hit 50 DP, and I wanted to know if anything was coming close because I would be alerted too late if anything went to threaten the Neko out in the open.
I spent 40 DP expanding the dungeon"s territory to encompa.s.s the entire hill, stead of its crown. Now all the apple trees were mine, Mwahahaha!
Then I left the 10 remaining alone, eyeing a new upgrade that was no longer grayed out thanks to successfully creating a "first floor".
Now that the Boss floor wasn"t the only floor, I could make it impossible to enter except from the gate. It was a folding of s.p.a.ce as I understand it, so flying into it or climbing the rocks would just transport you to the other end.
With the Dungeon"s expansion, a rumble took place as the white crystals in the lake started to shine, causing the water to become near-fully transparent, with a light shade of aqua green-blue being all that showed that water was there.
The crystals began to grow as a pillar of them formed under the shrine, connecting to the building and supporting it, as lines of crystal grew throughout the wood, almost alive.
Finally it settled again, and I gasped at the sudden changes.
"What the heck! I just added some apple orchards, and you make an isle of crystal for the shrine?"
I also noticed the lake seemed bigger now, by about a full third, and so was the gra.s.sy s.p.a.ce around it. The circle of rocks had grown bigger, but looked no different from the outside.
After looking through the menu, I now had the "Boss Floor" with me, the "invader" Neko, and the Kitsune Shrine, and the "Apple Orchards" as a 2nd floor, with each tree identified as a part of the dungeon.
I also saw that an upgrade for 20 DP was attached to the apple orchards, called "Elemental Gathering", which would make Elemental evolutions more common, with higher variants, and optional choices to influence which had higher amounts.
Income now was 5 DP per day, as the size had essentially tripled, and the Trees actually would donate a bit of the natural mana they absorbed.

Also I now had upgrades available to influence income, like one for 45 DP that would raise the efficiency of the trees mana absorption, promotions evolution, growth, and sending more energy to the dungeon.
I looked more at the new crystal isle in the center of the lake, but it was a smooth ride with perfectly rounded features, which the Shrine looked built upon, as if it had never had wooden stilts holding it.
Then after I had refamiliarized myself with this s.p.a.ce, I turned back to the Catgirl, who was beginning to stir.
