Rio looked over at me with a curious look. Before quickly trotting over to stand at my side. But once again she frowned as she could not read what it said. "What this?""It is a report on a project called Project Sola." I continued on and explained what it said. The report was on a project that would create a new artificial race. Except that this race was to be almost one hundred percent like the Dumacans. The new race would be immune to the virus that was killing off Dumacans at an astonishing rate. The reason why they were trying to create such a race was due to the other races that relied so much on magic fuel for their day to day lives. Once the Dumacans disappear their lives would be thrown into chaos once the magic fuel reserves were dried up. Since the Dumacans had a sense of responsibility as the creators of this world"s races they were doing all they could in order to hopefully allow the races to keep the lives that they currently had after all the Dumacans were gone.
I continued reading through the report as it went over the specifics of each phase of the creation of the first Sola. A female artificial life that was dubbed Sola 001. As I got down to the last entry of the report my eyes widen as I read the last few lines. "Sola 001 was finally out of incubation and pa.s.sed all finalized test and was then put into cryostasis. Results showed that genetically she was ninety nine point nine percent Dumacan! Rio if this report is right then in one of the labs on the lower floors there is a new race that is almost one hundred percent Dumacan!"
"That means we are the first to ever discover a new race since before the culling!" Rio was getting very excited. She looked like I did when I was going out to get a new release of some manga or finding a new book on magic when I lived on earth.
"Okay, we will search every floor carefully and see if we can find any resources. But before we start doing that we need to come up with an easy method for moving the sled from floor to floor. So Rio for now just work on packing up this room. I will go see if there is a device that moves between floors that work and is big enough to allow the sled on to it. I also want to take this desk with me as well. There is too much information on here to go through at once." As I finished my words I stood up and gave Rio a kiss. "This is just the beginning of our journey!" I said with a smile.
"Un, it is! I will work in here and finish up. But Sora be careful… There is no telling if there is any demonic beast in the lower sections of the building." Rio said with a worried look on her face.
"I know… I will be closing this door when I leave. Do not open it for any reason. Even if you might hear me screaming in pain please just stay here until you know it is safe." I know what I said was a horrible thought. But the thought of Rio getting hurt trying to rescue me if I am caught in a bind, was something I could not handle.

Rio gave me a complex look but reluctantly nodded her head in agreeance. I knew she did not like this idea but there was no other way. I walked out of the room and closed the door behind me. After making sure the door was tightly shut I started walking down the hallway looking at everything.
I was quite surprised to see the walls were covered in artwork. I couldn"t help but think that some parts of the Dumacan culture resembled that of Earth"s. Well for the most part anyway. Each picture was of a naked Dumacan playing with her p.u.s.s.y. But I will say Dumacans were very cute. At least in these paintings anyways. I continued on and finally saw what looked to be some kind of cargo elevator or transporter of some kind. It was a large half-circle with many runes engraved on the floor. That connected to some kind of panel off to the side.
I walked over to it and placed my hand on the panel. Of course, as luck would have it, nothing happened. I guess I couldn"t be lucky all the time. I even tried to send some of my magic power into it but still nothing. Thinking for a moment I made a hole in the platform about the size of my head and looked in. Unfortunately, it was too dark to see. Thinking for a moment I then took out another glow rock and dropped it into the hole. I watched as the light of the glow rock disappeared into the darkness. After almost a full ten minutes I heard an echo of the glow rock hitting the bottom. I sucked in a breath of cold air as I realized that there was a lot more to this building than what meets the eye. But at least I now knew that this was indeed an elevator shaft. It was just too bad it did not work. Just thinking of how long the drop was to the bottom made me feel a little depressed. To get to the bottom might take a month maybe more.
But as I thought about it that seemed to be just about right since Rio and I would be taking as many resources out of this building as possible. I did have to say though that this city was definitely frozen in time. Untouched since the day it was abandoned.
