Chapter 140 - The Sky Seemed to Fall
"Davi… my… wife…" he said slowly with a voice filled to the brim with love and gentleness. It was as if to him, her name was meant to be called in the most pa.s.sionate way.
The girl swaying in front of him seemed to hear him call her name with the additional "my wife", and she responded by smiling more brightly than ever before. That moment, her eyes were still narrowed, and her face was reddish and drenched with sweat, and yet her angelic beauty remained dazzling despite her situation.
Her soft voice, with the slow movement of her body, and the way she pursed her lips that moment were even more seductive, that Sei"s threads of sanity were heard snapping in his mind.
"A-again." She pleaded as she started looking so eager and excited despite her being in such state. Seeing her being pleased to that extent, Sei"s heart instantly felt an indescribable pleasure.
"Davi my wife." He repeated with the same pa.s.sionate voice and Davi embraced him again, looking extremely happy. She was squeezing his neck with intense force, but Sei don"t even mind it at all and gently wrapped his arms loosely around her small waist. All he cared about was that his wife was happy.
Time pa.s.sed and they stayed like this in each other"s embrace. Sei didn"t moved nor talk again because he was waiting for her to finally fall back to sleep and rest. But the next moment, Davi suddenly let go of his neck, placing her arms on his shoulders. She was still kneeling as her tired gaze fell on him, looking as though she was on the verge of falling asleep.
However, her eyes tightened and suddenly revealed a dim sadness as she stared at him. Causing Sei to immediately feel alarmed with her distress. Sei reflexively straightened his spine and was slowly reaching out his hands towards her face as he looked at her eyes getting even sadder. Until finally finding his voice, he was about to open his mouth to ask what was wrong when he stopped as it happened. Tears suddenly welled in her beautiful eyes and the next second, drops of tears flowed down her face.
That moment, the sky seemed to fall straight towards Sei.
Looking at his wife"s tears falling like droplets of crystals reflected in the moonlight made him feel like his heart was being smashed into multiple pieces. His throat began to tighten and he felt like it was getting harder for him to breath.
Sei wanted to ask what was wrong, but his words just seemed to get stuck in his throat. Until the crying girl in front of him slowly opened her mouth.
"Sei… Why? Why can"t I see your face? Why… Why am I not allowed to know you? I… I wanted to see you… I wanted to know you."
Those words echoed inside Sei"s brain over and over again as his gaze was locked unto his wife who started sobbing like a child. And his heart clenched painfully that he just pulled her to his embrace and hugged her tightly.
Davi continued sobbing in his chest and Sei just buried his face into her hair. He kept on stroking her back as he desperately tried thinking about what he should do and what he should say to ease her pain.
However, before Sei could speak, the girl suddenly went limped again as she finally pa.s.sed out due to exhaustion.
And the moment he felt her finally falling asleep, Sei didn"t let go of her. He stayed there embracing her for a long while before he finally unclasped her. And when he laid her on the bed, he stood quietly and took another s.h.i.+rt from the closet to change her drenched outerwear.
When he returned to the bed, he slowly propped her up to sit and leaned her on his chest, before he carefully removed her s.h.i.+rt and put another on her.
Sei remained quiet during the whole process, his eyes were still reflecting guilt and pain as he avoided looking at his wife"s body.
