King Of Sports

Chapter 1

"Brother, can you really shoot that antelope?" said a voice with a hint of distrust.

On a gra.s.sland in South Africa, a dark-skinned African man stared off into the distance then turned his head back to look over the middle aged Chinese man beside him.

"Nick, of course, you have to believe in my shooting." said Tang Yan, picking up the recurve bow beside him. He glanced over to the African antelope that was grazing over 150 meters away and took an arrow from the arrow pot. After nocking the arrow, he pulled back the bowstring and aimed.

According to the principle of use, bows and arrows were divided into three types: straight bow, recurve bow and compound bow. Straight bows and compound bows were often used for hunting, while a recurve bow was rarely used because the force it produced was too small.

"Tw.a.n.g"

The sound rang out and the arrow flew out of the recurve bow, it flew a parabola curve in the air then fell straight towards the antelope.

The antelope seemed to sense something was wrong, right at the last moment and ran forward. The arrow that had been aimed at his chest missed its mark and flew into its thigh.

The antelope shot, made a scream then shot forward with a quick kick.

The main reason why the recurve bow wasn"t used for hunting was that the force it generated was too small, it was basically only effective on targets within 50 meters.

"Chase!"

The black man saw the arrow in the antelope and jumped directly into the military pickup truck on the side.

With a bang, the car was launched forward in the blink of an eye.

Tang Yan put away his bow and steadied himself in the back of the truck.

Tang Yan was a security guard, guarding the engineers of the Chinese Aid project. He was also an amateur archery enthusiast. The black man next to him was Nick ‎Jafari, the leader of a small Nigerian mercenary group. Responsible for the security of the railway construction site. The two of them often went hunting in the wild together after work as a way of relaxing.

Jafari"s driving skills were quite good. After the antelope was shot in the thigh, the speed of its running was significantly reduced.

"Haha, it"s speed has slowed down it can"t run fast, Brother show me your shooting skills again!" Shouted Jafari excitedly as he stepped on the gas pedal harder.

"I"ll try!" said Tang Yan, picking up the recurve bow again.

The road on the gra.s.sland wasn"t flat and so the car was constantly b.u.mping. In theory, it was an impossible shot to make especially with the African antelope still running but after staying in Africa for so long the people"s wild and adventurous nature had begun to rub off on him so holding the recurve bow, he decided to give it a try.

Perhaps sensing its crisis, the antelope began running even more crazily.

"Dammit, this thing sure is tenacious!" cursed Jafari before stomping on the pedal harder.

A hill appeared in front of the gra.s.sland it had bushes atop it which blocked their line of sight.

"It"s trying to escape into the bushes!" Jafari yelled at Tang Yan. At this moment the throttle of the car was already at its maximum but since the car was climbing the hill, its speed was inevitably reduced. Tang Yan knew he had to make his shot soon or the antelope would escape.

Tang Yan took a deep breath and ignored the b.u.mping of the car, and aimed at the wild antelope, in one swift movement he nocked his arrow and shot.

"Tw.a.n.g!"

The arrow flew off the string and soared across the sky. The next instant it was directly immersed in the lower abdomen of the antelope. The animal"s feet became tangle and it crashed and rolled over dead into the shrubs.

"Yes!" Jafari shouted excitedly.

Tang Yan also excitedly punched the air with his fist.

But then as Jafari tried to step on the brakes, the brakes of the car failed.

They were going too fast, the car rushed into the bushes.

The two of them grabbed the car and prepared for impact.

But what they never imagined was that after the bushes, was a cliff.

The car plummeted downwards.

"Nooo!"

Tang Yan flew of the back of the truck, as he spun in the air he saw white clouds overhead as darkness began to surround him as he fell downwards.

Because of long-term mining in Africa, many gra.s.slands collapsed and formed cliffs.

Tang Yan"s mind was like a videotape, constantly reviewing his life, which had been desolate and humble.

"Bang, Crunch"

He hit the ground, Tang Yan felt his consciousness slipping away.
