"What"s what?" Silfy was not looking at Linri so she did not see him pointing at his wrist."If you can lift your head up for a second, I am sure you can understand what I am talking about" Silfy raised her head and saw him pointing towards his bracelet.
"It"s a bracelet, ain"t it?" She could not see anything special about it.
"Yeah, that"s the problem! It used to be a snake" Linri expected some sort of reaction but she did not even take him seriously.
"Then why are you asking me? Wouldn"t a vet be more of an authority on this subject?" Even though she sounded sincere it couldn"t be any more obvious that she was making of him.
"I am serious! I encountered this snake on an ancient ruin but instead of attacking me it latched onto my arm and turned into this bracelet. I can"t even get it off. Aren"t you supposed to be a blacksmith? Surely you would understand what it is" Linri tried to goad her as he thought this might be the only way he can convince her. I mean he did not really know anything about her personality in-depth but almost every young prodigy had one quirk; they always felt like they needed to prove themselves.
"Fineeeeeeeee but you are going to be the one paying the tab" Since he never had any intention of making her pay this actually worked out for him. It might be an old tradition but when a man and a woman eat out or hang out in a cafe the man should be the one paying for the tab. That was how he was raised and he was going to uphold his standards.
"Okay, so did you understand anything?" Linri asked after some time. He was impatient to learn about this d.a.m.ned thing.
"Don"t rush me! I am a blacksmith, not a lame accessory maker, this is really outside of my area of expertise" Silfy answered while inspecting the Silver Serpent bracelet.
"Yep, I got... nothing" Silfy admitted her defeat after inspecting the bracelet for five whole minutes. She tried to take it off and when that didn"t work she even tried to scratch it with a screwdriver. She even tried a chisel but it didn"t work either. Then she tried to enchant it with her ability to learn its properties but it ended the same way just like her previous attempts.
"So you can"t tell me anything about it?" Linri asked with some hope.
"Well, I can tell you something and that"s the fact that it"s extremely durable and aside from that nothing. That thing is extremely interesting, if you ever get take it off you can sell it to me. By the way which ruins did you say you got it from again?" Linri was excited at the start but it didn"t take long for him to get disappointed.
"That"s not important. Anyway, since you can"t do it yourself do you at least know anyone that can take this thing off me?" He really was worried about this little bracelet. When he asked Solas and Lozna about it they had just said it was a good thing for him and he should not be worried but that made him even more worried and paranoid. What if it was a listening device? What if it was some kind of time bomb that would go off when they were done with him? I mean he was sure that he didn"t offend them in any way but he had still stood up to them, so what if they were vengeful and wanted to kill him for it? I mean he wasn"t even the real chosen one of the Togk deities! He was just an expendable p.a.w.n.
"Nope! So you are sure about not selling it to me?" Silfy asked once more and pried Linri away from his thoughts.
"Not interested and I am not even sure you would want it when you learn its real origin" Silfy gave him a crafty smile.

"Then how about dating me?" Linri did not process the question for a second.
"... Excuse me?"
"Yeah, you heard me!" He just raised his eyebrows like he couldn"t believe she was asking something like this.
"No? Anyway, why are you asking something like that again?" Silfy just rolled her eyes at him. I mean when they messaged online Silfy would always joke like that but Linri did not think that she would also ask him the same thing face to face! Did that mean she was always serious?
"Well the number one reason is that you are a hunk and as for the number two if you date me what"s yours would be mine and what"s mine would still be mine! Meaning that bracelet would become mine! Don"t you think that it would go along well with my hair?" What kinda skewed logic is that!
"No?"
"Of course you would think that! Just look at your outfit. It"s obvious that you don"t know anything about fas.h.i.+on" Linri was getting overwhelmed. Suddenly the subject turned from discussing an ancient and maybe possibly living relic to dating and from there it jumped to his fas.h.i.+on sense. It was going too fast! It"s official he really did not have any affinity with Silfy. He just couldn"t follow her thought process. One minute she was there and in the next, she was here. Like how? I mean he s.p.a.ced a lot and thought about other things during conversations a lot - like now - but at least he had the common courtesy to not voice them.
*Snap* *Snap* *Snap*
Silfy snapped her fingers in front of his face.
"h.e.l.loooooo? Earth to Linri. Are you there?"
"Huh?"
"I said we were leaving to do some shopping!" Linri did not understand what she meant. What did she mean by "we"? Just when did he agree to that?
She did not wait for him to answer though and dragged him to the counter where he paid for the table and then they went on a shopping spree. Linri did not have any right to speak during this whole ordeal.
According to Silfy"s words, he was at least handsome and made anything he wore look good but he would be even better if he actually wore something fas.h.i.+onable. In the end, after trying out enough clothes to form a miniature mountain, she settled on a rock and roll style look with the main colour theme being black. According to her words, it contrasted with his hair so people would look more to towards his face. Which would be a good thing because he was handsome? Was that even true or was it some kind of bulls.h.i.+t she made up to justify her taste? Anyway, black was his favourite colour now so he was not complaining about that at least.
Once he was done paying for the clothes his wallet was almost empty. After paying for the hotel he basically wouldn"t have any more money for the remainder of the month. Well the good thing was the school cafeteria was free and instead of serving ready-made food they would cook whatever you requested like a restaurant. He didn"t know how good it would be but at least in the game, the players described most of the food as tasty?
"Oh man, this was fun! Let"s do it again when we have free time after school" Contrary to Linri"s desperation Silfy was having lots of fun. When she mentioned the school Linri"s face got sour. He was debating whether he should warn her about the event or not. Basically, he had changed a lot of things with his transmigration and some people were going to attend the school sooner than they were supposed to. He was worried that this might result in their deaths or maybe they would be protected by their destiny? I mean was that even a thing or did he start to make excuses for his own actions now?
"Anyway, see you tomorrow on the ceremony" While he was having an internal conflict Silfy had hailed a cab and was about to get on. Linri panicked and dropped his bags to grab her arm.
She gave him a startled look and seemed ready to punch him in the face. To be fair, that should be every woman"s instinct when a guy suddenly grabs their arm.
"Silfy, you know I am an info broker right?" She was puzzled for a second but nodded her head.
"Well, if you trust my intel don"t go to the ceremony tomorrow. There is going to be a bloodbath. I can"t say anything else so if you trust me don"t go" And after saying that Linri grabbed the bags he had dropped and left.
He was feeling like he had done something unnecessary. So what if she had died? Did that have anything to do with him? No. Was she important to her plans? Another resounding no. But he still felt like warning her. Just why did he do that?
On his way to the hotel, Linri was having an intense headache. On the one hand, he felt like he had done the right thing, but on the other hand, he was blaming himself and thinking that this might mess up the timeline further and all his plans would go to waste. The self-conflict was so intense that he wasn"t even able to think about anything else. It felt almost as if there were two different people in his mind vying for the control of his body. One was the Linri that was ready to sacrifice anyone to achieve his goals and the other one was the Linri that wanted to prevent all the bad things he knew about from happening.
In the end, when he arrived at his hotel he just checked in and immediately fell asleep in his room without even eating dinner. At this point, he would rather just die over and over again in the hands of Udcek instead of debating that question any further.
