Linri and the gang were having breakfast in the restaurant of their hotel. The opening ceremony was going to start at 10 am so they still had time.
"So when are we going to leave for the ceremony?" The one that asked the question was Brie. Among all of them, she was the only person that was unaware of the carnage that was about to take place so she was thinking they were going to leave the hotel soon and check-in their respective dormitories. Well, not exactly respective since in Autumnfall there was only a single dormitory with two wings. Left-wing was reserved for the males while the right-wing was for the female students. In other words, it was co-ed.

There wasn"t even anyone to stop students from crossing to the other wing. I mean why would there be? The RP club had a strict no +18 content policy, so there was no need to bar people from entering into the other wings. He wondered if it would still be the same in this world. I mean they were basically teenagers with overflowing hormones so if there was no supervision there was a high chance of naughty stuff happening. Actually, maybe that was what the higher-ups of Autumnfall hoped for.
They were all strong ability holders with immense potential, carefully picked among the ma.s.ses. Even the reason Linri got in was because of his parents" names. So if they were to copulate, their next generation would be even stronger. That was definitely something in their interest. But weren"t they afraid of the families behind those students? What if they were to blame the school if one of their heirs got pregnant? Wait a minute! Doesn"t this sound exactly like an MC background story? His parents were madly in love and as a result, the MC was brought into the world but the evil family of his mother decided to hunt them down. When they were caught the mother agreed to come if they let go of her kid and husband... d.a.m.n! That sounded such a real possibility that Linri didn"t even want to entertain the possibility. Wait! Maybe he could play the mentor role to that kid but doesn"t the mentor always die in the books? Yep, he had to stay away from the future MC as far away as possible. Or maybe he can even c.o.c.kblock his parents. That way he wouldn"t even have to worry about dying! He even had a future candidate about the possible parents. Namely his future roommate Phantom!
"No, we are not going to attend the ceremony. It"s dumb and instead, we can hang out in the city" The one that answered Brie"s inquiry was Kris. Before coming they had already decided on not attending the ceremony. It was just too dangerous. Linri was the one that came up with the idea. He was also the one that convinced them to keep Brie out of the loop.
Jaime was strongly opposed to it as she felt Brie was trustworthy and she could help them but Linri just said there was no merit on informing her. Instead, she might even hinder their plans. So after an intense debate, Jaime agreed to keep quiet, for now.
"Yeah, we can go visit the shrines. After the term starts we won"t have that much time to relax and stroll around anyway. So where should we go Linri?" Seeing his absent-minded look Jaime tried to pull him into the conversation. He was sort of the de facto leader of the group. Even though she didn"t like his evil side, he was the one that adapted to this world better than they did. Also, she liked him what can she do? She wanted to spend more meaningful time with him. What if suggested a romantic location? Kyaaaah!
As for Kris, he was still figuring out his powers and he did not seem to be taking their situation seriously. He was not reliable enough to be a leader. And Brie was the little sister, even if she wanted to she could not escape from her role. That only left Linri to be the leader. If you asked him though he would refuse the position saying there was no merit in being a leader and he would be better left alone. That was why his position was unofficial.
"Hm? Oh, I think you guys can visit the Imperial Palace. I heard it was a nice tourist attraction"
"Yeah, that sounds like a great idea!" answered Jaime enthusiastically.
However, Kris had caught something in his words.
"What do you mean by "you guys"? Aren"t you also coming?"
"Yeah, I have something else planned" Linri answered casually.
"Don"t tell me you are planning on attending the ceremony?" Jaime asked nervously.
"What"s wrong with that? As a diligent student, of course, I am going to attend the ceremony. I wouldn"t want to be marked as a slacker" Linri replied with his usual sarcasm.
"Hah! Idiot, we will be having fun while you are going to listen to some old boring sermon. Isn"t he an idiot big sis?" Brie asked Jaime while she was making fun of him, totally unaware of the brooding storm that was about to come.
"Yes, he is a total idiot" Jaime said in a cold voice. These days her personality was getting colder and colder. She a.s.sumed it was because of the original Jaime"s personality. Just then, when Linri said he was going to attend the ceremony instead of bursting out the way she normally would, she got cold freezing flames inside of her. Instead of showing it, she was internalising her anger. That"s why she left the table instead of saying anything else and went to her room. Brie followed behind her shortly afterwards.
"So what"s the plan?" Kris asked once she left. Totally undisturbed by what happened between Jaime and Linri.
"What plan?" Linri asked, acting like he did not understand what he was talking about.
"The plan to stop the carnage from happening"
"Who said anything about stopping it?" Linri gave him a mysterious smile.
Kris for the life of him could not read Linri"s thoughts. It normally should be something impossible. He had the pa.s.sive type secondary ability [Living Computer], meaning he was taking in and a.n.a.lysing information in real-time. They even had access to the same information, so just why was he not able to read him? It seemed more like he was the one who had the [Living Computer]. What was the thing that separated them? This bothered him greatly.
"I know you. You wouldn"t risk your life without any benefits. If you are not going to stop the ceremony why are you going to attend in the first place? If you planned to stop it I would at least somewhat understand it. Everyone in that school has some sort of influence and you could have used that but from the looks of it that"s not your plan"
"Who said anything about risking my life? Did you forget? Linri already survived that apocalypse before and the only thing I have to do is follow the script and I would be safe and sound" Kris was almost convinced by his answer. The keyword here being almost. There was no way he would believe that bulls.h.i.+t so there had to be something bigger. Something deeper and worth him risking his life over.
"I would believe if it was someone else but not you. If you don"t want to say just make it clear instead of playing games" Kris rebuked him in a fit of anger.
"Fine, it is actually elementary my dear Kris-"
"Cut the Sherlock bulls.h.i.+t! If it was Jaime I would give her a pa.s.s since that"s who her character is based on but not you! So come to the point" Linri was disappointed by his reaction. He actually thought he sounded cool okay?
"You are no fun. Can"t you let me have my moment?"
"Sorry you lost that privilege when you almost burnt my face off"
"You are not one for forgiveness, we get it! No need to keep rubbing it on my face. Back to the subject matter in hand, I am going to have some help and possibly confirm one of my hypothesis"
Kris thought hard on the subject but no one came to his mind. Who could possibly stand up to that monster? He was made to be unbeatable and he had countless abilities depending on the situation. Admins said that when the event started Luxor didn"t give him any abilities because he was going to make one on the spot depending on the situation since he had to be unbeatable. Meaning his abilities were limitless.
Even Ms Snow, Luxor"s own RP character who could 1 v 1 other event bosses, couldn"t do anything to him.
"Just who are you going to get help from?" Kris asked quite curiously. He knew that there wasn"t a single RP character that could stand up to Zero which made him even more curious about his solution.
"From Saint Nicholas, of course!"
Kris looked dumbfounded. Saint Nicholas? Who the h.e.l.l was that?
