Shen Yi endured her mood swings happening frequently lately and didn’t blame her for that. Zhao Xi told him that this was entirely normal, and he shouldn’t worry too much.

Sometimes, Lu Xinyi would be hormonally upset; other times, she would be hormonally h.o.r.n.y—which Shen Yi didn’t mind at all. He couldn’t wait to help and satisfy her with those problems.

He watched his wife with the twins as they drove back home after picking up the twins from school. With her morning sickness gone, Lu Xinyi was able to resume doing things normally without worrying about her nausea.

Last night was the first time they made love since they found out she was with a child. He’d treated her body with care and gentleness. While Shen Yi felt that he’d once again experienced nirvana, Lu Xinyi was self-conscious about the changes in her body.

He couldn’t understand why she was so worried about her body. Her b.u.mp proved their love for each other. The baby inside of her was his, and he loved it. Now, it would be problematic to keep his hands away from her since being intimate with her last night. He absolutely loved the fact that she was bearing his child and the changes in her body even if she disagreed. It only made him love and cherish her more.

That night, after a mind-blowing o.r.g.a.s.m, they decided to rest a bit with her head lying on Shen Yi’s chest.

“Hey, what if we do have a girl, will you be alright with it?” she asked him curiously. Being born from a wealthy family, Lu Xinyi knew how important it was for conservative families to have a son for an heir.

“Of course, Xinxin. Any child you give me wouldn’t be less than perfect in my eyes,” he a.s.sured her, “Xinxin, you should know how hard it is to be raised as an heir. I do not want our children to suffer the same thing. I want a family with you, Xinxin. So it doesn’t matter to me if it’s a boy or a girl.”

Lu Xinyi looked up to him with eyes filled with uncertainty. She wanted the same. She didn’t want their children to be subjected to sibling rivalry and fighting over wealth.

She sighed and let her head drop on her pillow. Shen Yi had a point. Why didn’t she consider that?

“I also feel the same. Although raising them with equal attention and love would be hard.”

Wasn’t this what happened to the Sun family? Her mother’s siblings didn’t know the concept of family and love and had thought that money was all that mattered. Look at what happened to all of them?

The next morning was a bit tiring for Lu Xinyi, but what else could she expect from a husband who refused to give her a break and gave her multiple o.r.g.a.s.ms the night before?

She cracked her eyes open and saw her husband already up, busy with his laptop as she slept beside him. His one hand raked on her head, and by the way he was touching and fiddling with her hair, Lu Xinyi bemused that he must be missing her long hair.

“What time is it?” She groaned, rolling on her back as she lifted an arm to cover her eyes from the sunlight streaming from the outside.

“Still morning.”

Not the answer she was hoping to receive, but at least she didn’t wake up past noon again. Groaning, she decided to cuddle his pillow instead. She didn’t want to get up yet and certainly didn’t want to leave the warmth and company her husband was giving her.

Ever since he found out she was pregnant, Shen Yi had been working from home—only leaving the house for important meetings that needed his appearance. Lu Xinyi was thankful that she had a doting husband like him. She knew how hard it was for him to juggle his time between work and family, and she’d never heard him complain about it.

Truth to be told, it was Shen Xue who was having a hard time getting used to his packed schedule as the newest president of Shen Group. He’d been so used to having his brother around to cover after him. Ever since Shen Yi left to start his own business empire, Shen Xue barely had a time left for himself.

Being pregnant, Lu Xinyi groaned once more as she felt the need to pee. Geez, being pregnant easily made her hungry and gave her a hard time controlling her pee. Grumbling her complaints to herself, she crawled out of the bed, s.n.a.t.c.hed her robe as she went, and shut herself in the bathroom.

When she came back to their room, Shen Yi helped her dress before leading her to the kitchen to have her late breakfast. With the twins still at school by this time, Shen Yi got his wife’s attention to himself.

“Didn’t you have a check-up tomorrow morning?” he reminded her, watching her eat her breakfast enthusiastically.

“Yeah, I do,” she replied, but she sounded nervous.

“Would you like it if I attend the next appointments with you?” Shen Yi offered.

“Yes, please.” Lu Xinyi tried hard not to sound relieved by his offer, but she couldn’t help it.

The next day…

Lu Xinyi walked into the doctor’s office, feeling nervous. It was her first time having her check-up with Shen Yi accompanying her, and she didn’t know what to expect today.

Her hand was tightly held by him as they waited for her name to be called. Other pregnant women were waiting for their turns and watching them curiously. Both of them were wearing sungla.s.ses inside of the building and with the Fu Siblings standing near them with stiff expressions. Of course, they would get everyone’s attention, Lu Xinyi thought.

A couple walked by and sat across them. The woman was also pregnant like her. Lu Xinyi let a small smile as the lady rubbed her baby b.u.mp. The woman turned her head and caught Lu Xinyi’s stare.

“Giving birth anytime soon? Are you excited?” the woman asked her with a smile.

Lu Xinyi frowned and glanced at her husband who didn’t pay any attention to people around them.

“Uh, what?”

“Aren’t you already on your last trimester?” the woman replied.

“I’m still in the middle of my second semester.” Lu Xinyi corrected her, touching her swollen belly.

The woman gasped and covered her mouth with one hand.

“Oh, my gosh, I’m so sorry. I thought you’re already on your last trimester because you’re so big already.”

The smile on Lu Xinyi’s smile faltered before turning to face her husband as if she was about to cry. She was already huge, but he wasn’t saying anything?!

The other couple excused themselves, and Shen Yi and Lu Xinyi were left in the waiting room.

“What’s wrong?” He asked when he noticed that her eyes were wet with tears.

“Am I fat?” She wailed.

“Xinxin, you are eating for two. Didn’t we talk about this already?”

“But that woman thought I was ready to give birth anytime?” She argued.

Shen Yi rubbed his temple, aware of the headache coming his way. “You’re not fat. You are keeping our baby well-fed. If you don’t believe me, then ask the doctor later.”
