Chapter 2738 Battle

BANNNNG

‘You just kill a few of their people, and they will send even more powerful people to kill you,’ I thought and crashed against the huge tree.

Sup Sup Sup

“Zaar, you have killed our people, and now, you will pay the price for that,” said the foxwomen standing three miles away from me and waved its hand, and tens of thousands of grey ice lances clouding the sky fell down on me.

‘It seemed like there is no option,’ I said in my heart and summoned my s.h.i.+elds; I could not counter this powerful attack of absolute peak powerhouse; defending was my only choice.

Thousands of ice lances fell down on me from all directions, so powerful that one could say spatial waves as they moved through the air. I have become quite powerful in my time in this ruin, but still not enough to counter such a powerful attack with my weapons.

BANNNG BANNNG BANNNG

The volley of thousands of ice lances came and crashed against my s.h.i.+elds, making them visible in an instant, sending ripples across them. The attack is powerful, and if I had experienced it ten days ago, it would have definitely cracked my s.h.i.+elds.

I looked at the Foxwomen in beautiful grey icy armor; it is Hrae, an absolute peak powerhouse from the Frost Foxmen tribe. It is very powerful, but we had barely any information about her; it was active three centuries ago before it disappeared.

Now, she appeared as High-Grandmaster of the absolute peak, a level above the Grandmaster she had been.

Its appearance is quite surprising; a few minutes ago, I was eating lunch when Ashlyn informed me of its presence, and a few minutes after that, it appeared in front of the castle and called me out specifically in a challenge.

In just a minute, it had heavily injured me and sent me on the complete defensive, completely different from the high I had been experiencing in the past few days.

It had been six days since Lady Yui had left, and I had killed another two Grimms, one of which had a bloodline that was no weaker than Fasra. Nero had also killed one, and considering the two Ashlyn, and I had killed before Yui left, we have killed five Grimms, which is a very high number.

They were not the normal Grimms but core members of Grimm, their elites among elites, High-Grandmasters, who was inches away from reaching the absolute peak.

BANNNG BANNNG BANNNG

The grey ice lances continued clas.h.i.+ng against my s.h.i.+elds till all of them had been spent, and not a single scratch was present on the s.h.i.+eld.

“Try harder, and you might be given a few scratches to my s.h.i.+eld,” I said as I sat down at the base of the broken tree comfortably. Even at such a distance, I could see my taunt had worked, and she was spewing the raging fire from her eyes.

“You lowly human, I will kill you!” it shouted, and I felt an extremly powerful aura bursting out of it like the arctic volcano. Feeling it, I am very grateful that I have summoned the s.h.i.+elds; this is not an enemy I could survive against without my s.h.i.+elds.

It did not say anything other than the glare, but the ice hills began to appear in the air till the whole sky got covered in them.

Seeing the thousands of hills clouding the sky, even I couldn’t help but feel the awe of the attack and wasted no time in providing every ounce of energy I had and even readied the fourth boost. If the attack seemed too powerful, I would not hesitate to burn my essence.

“Die, Zaar!” It shouted, and the thousands of hills came at me like the giant meteors that, seeing them, my heart couldn’t help but skip a beat.

BANNNNNG!

The first mountain crashed against my s.h.i.+elds, transferring all its power into the attack as it exploded on the touch. It lit up my s.h.i.+elds like the sun, and a faint crack appeared at the place it struck my s.h.i.+eld, which was not enough to do anything against them, but it was just the first hill, and there were thousands that were behind it.

BANNNNNG BANNNNNG BANNNNNG

After the first crash hill crashed, another one crashed a fraction of a second later, and then another one after that; like the rapid bullets, they struck against my s.h.i.+eld one after another, creating more and more crashes with each clash.

Even from a great distance, the foxwomen could see what its attacks were doing, and a frown couldn’t help but appear on its face.

It might have thought the hills would do much greater damage or even destroy the s.h.i.+elds, but they did not. They just gave it cracks, but that did not seem to be even for it, as it did not look happy at all.

BANNNNNG!

The last hill crashed on my s.h.i.+elds, creating multiple cracks that spread for a moment before stopping.

The attack stopped, but one could see the distractions it had brought around; a large part of the forest was simply destroyed, the only sigh of wood that could be seen was the one I was leaning against, and even the castle, which is more than twenty miles away, had to put up a s.h.i.+eld to defend against the attack.

“Good attack,” I said as I looked at my s.h.i.+eld and cracks, which have covered nearly 30% of its surface and are now rapidly healing.

“You can continue attacking if you want to, but I will tell you, they are useless against me,” I said as I flew up, not crossing the miles distance it had maintained against me since it had come.

Snort!

“Stop hiding behind s.h.i.+elds, and you will know how powerful my attacks are,” said Foxwomen; “I will gladly do that, as long as you appear in front of me to fight,” I said back, to which it glared at me.

“Feel grateful that you have the protectors around human; the moment you meet me alone, I will kill you,” said the foxwomen and disappeared.

I couldn’t help but laugh at its excuse; while what it says is true, there are powerful people around me, who hold the capability to stop it, like Lord Yazdi, but that would not stop it considering it is at its absolute peak of High Grandmaster cla.s.s and they are not.

The only reason it had left was that it could not breach my s.h.i.+elds.

I stayed in my place till Ashlyn told me the Grimm was truly gone before I flew toward the castle while seeing the vast destruction we had brought in our few minutes; around fifty miles radius of the area had been destroyed, and the luminescent forest in front of the castle, all but disappeared.

Thankfully, we are the luminescent ruin, and the area would only require a couple of months to regain its vitality; back on the mainland, we had put conscious efforts and resources into restoring the places which have been destroyed by the battle.

The more powerful the powerhouses had been, the harder it was to restore the area; some became so damaged that they took decades and even centuries to recover.
