Chapter 2739 Candle Night
“Lord Yazdi, best of luck; I hope you gain the victory over this ruin,” I said to the middle-aged man before turning to another man of the same age. “Lord Sasha, thank you for protecting me for the past few days,” I said to my new bodyguard, who came after Lady Yui.
“It was my pleasure, Grandmaster,” He replied; I nodded at both of them the last time before turning back and stepping into the teleportation gate.
I would have liked to stay in this ruin for some more time, but my time is up. There are big responsibilities waiting back on the mainland.
Thud!
“Welcome back to Pyramid, Grandmaster,” said the familiar voice, “Hazel, you shouldn’t have to come to greet me,” I said and turned other women beside her,
“Mary, has everything been well in my absence?” I asked the young-looking woman, “Everything had been good.” “The donations have dipped a little, but we did not worry about it, now that the organizations are truly opening their coffers to us,” she replied.
I smiled at that, and all three of us went to the meeting room, which was empty. They were willing to wait for a meeting, but I had asked them not to; let them sleep today; tomorrow, we will have a meeting first thing in the morning.
Though, that is not the main reason; I also have a place I have to go, and if not for me to finish some work that needs my urgent attention, I wouldn’t have been here.
I sat down on my seat and opened the archive of the project with my access, which is the highest level. I have been getting updates daily, but they were not in detail; the pyramid had very careful with it, not wanting to let too many details of the project out.
The windows begin to pop up around me, and I begin to read it with a synch of my clone, which makes reading extremly fast.
The projects have been working steadily; though there have been some problems, they have been handled well by the team. It could be said that with the directions I have left, the team had done a wonderful job handling things, and that couldn’t help but bring a smile to my face.
I finished with everything, and the last thing I have checked is the data on the bone block and luminescent water I sent a week ago.
There are already thirty-one people who have used the bone block, including all the council members who are present on the mainland, aside from the Grand Commander, who could not use these things, even if she wanted to, given her delicate conditions.
The people who have used the luminescent pool are over two hundred; from Masters to High-Grandmasters, everyone used it.
These numbers would have been much higher if not for the supply of luminescent pools. Thankfully, I have brought back a huge amount of it; I have Nero a lot of clay storage and sent him out to the seventh region, the most dangerous one.
He came back in four days, bringing all storage that was filled to the brim with luminous water; I was quite shocked seeing that, as I had given him more clay storage artifacts just to be safe and would have been more than satisfied if he had brought back filling 25% of them, but he came filling each and every one of them.
“You two rest too, from tomorrow; it is going to be extra busy,” I said nearly an hour later when I had closed all the windows.
Biding them goodbye, I stepped into the formation with an excited heart; it had been a long while since I had seen Marina, and now, I just wanted to embrace her.
Buzz!
The formation activated, and I disappeared, appearing in Marina’s house, but as I appeared, I couldn’t help but become surprised.
All lights were off, and instead, the candles burning everywhere; I stepped out of the formation and walked out the foyer into the living room, which too had burning candles, and through it; I could see the door of Mariana’s room was slightly opened with the gentle light coming out of it.
I slowly walked toward the room before opening the door and saw marina lying on the bed seductively, wearing nothing other than the gentle candlelight.
She looked beautiful and seductive, so much so that I was having a hard controlling myself; every cell of my body was asking me to leap at her and ravage her without mercy.
“I had been very waiting for you, but it seemed like you love your work more than you love me,” she said without moving from her spot; it was clear she was upset.
“That would be the biggest lie in the world,” I said as I slowly walked toward us while throwing my jacket on the ground.
“The only reason I had gone there was to finish up some things, so nothing would disturb my night with you,” I said and leaned down on the bed beside her; there were barely a few inches of difference between our mouths.
“You are important to me, more than work, more than anything. I hope you know that,” I said and leaned in for a kiss.
As our lips touched, I felt the thirst I had been feeling for weeks finally getting satiated, and it was an amazing feeling.
The clothes on my body disappeared, and I gently embraced the marina. There was no hesitation in us as our lips and hands as they moved across our bodies.
Within a few minutes, moans began to fill the silence in the rooms, and they did not stop for hours; we had been away from each other for too long, and now, we did not want to separate from each other; our bodies were still moving when the first rays of dawn filtered through the window.
I have a meeting soon, but I couldn’t care less about it; I will not stop till the thirst we had for each other does not satiate.
