It"s not like Rhys did anything wrong, contrary to what she thought. He hasn"t tried to take advantage of her, even for a single moment. Though sometimes he would intrude in her personal s.p.a.ce, he hasn"t gone overboard. Her gaze landed on Kyou, who pulled out some candy.Lyn bent down and took a bite of the lollipop in his hands," Sweet."
Kyou stared at her, dumbfounded, "Unbelievable. Kazuya must have a hard time dealing with you. Or no, since it"s him, he might actually find this kind of behavior attractive."
At that comment Lyn could only laugh, he"s basically saying Kazuya has strange fetishes although she cannot deny that herself. And another thing, even without Kazuya around she still learns things about him. Kyou tried to beat around the bush about it, but Lyn thought it was odd. That last time he disappeared when Kazuya appeared, and the times before too. It was clear they knew each other, so she asked for the details.
"Say, are you really not going to talk to him about it? About that rumor? I said all that about trusting him and all. But if you two don"t talk to each other about it then the trust you have for each other amounts to nothing."
"I know," she understood that she knew that the two of them could not keep it up. Spending each day endlessly agonizing about it like this will not do her any good. Lyn knew that better than anyone, and yet she buries her head in the pillow, "But, it"s easier said than done."
Kyou sighed, "It seems like you"ve gotten yourself involved with the most troublesome person ever. Is it worth it, Princess Lyn?"
Worth it, huh? Lyn pondered about it. All these frustrated feelings she is feeling now is because of Kazuya. Before Lyn met him, while she had problems, she didn"t have such complicated emotions in her heart. Lyn never thought about it before, but now that someone is mentioning it to her. Perhaps she ought to think it through a bit more. When it concerns her relations.h.i.+p with Kazuya, she doesn"t want to make mistakes anymore.
Before Lyn could say anymore, the doors burst open, revealing a familiar person, "I knew it, I knew you"d be here again," Rhys barked.
There stood an angry looking Rhys at the doorway. It didn"t surprise Lyn to see him; he must have followed her. Lyn nodded, "I had business here," she didn"t see the need to lie. It"s not like she was doing anything terrible. But with the way Rhys was looking at her, it as like she just committed a major crime or something. Still, Lyn"s gaze remained firm.
Rhys made his way across the room, each of his footsteps were heavy, and his eyes were filled with such malice. When he finally reached her, Lyn felt his intense look directly at her. Finally, she broke the suffocating atmosphere and called his name out, "Rh-," her sentence fell short when Rhys suddenly picked her up.
"Wait a minute Rhys? Put me down!" Lyn exclaimed. Or rather this is embarra.s.sing, he"s practically touching her b.u.t.t. She understands this isn"t the time to care about such petty details, but she still has some dignity despite her so-called brazen actions when it comes to men. Though Lyn really didn"t see anything wrong with her coming here. Kyou kept talking about how a lady shouldn"t keep entering a man"s room.
The look in Rhys eyes was severe, and this time around he wasn"t going to tease her, "Like h.e.l.l," Rhys cursed, "I keep telling you, quit meeting with this guy. He betrayed Kazuya once before; he won"t hesitate to do the same with you."
"But he did so under my brother"s orders; I already heard the story."
The moment she connected the dots, Lyn confronted Kyou, and he told her everything. While Lyn felt that he only told her because of her status as a Princess, Lyn was grateful regardless.
"You didn"t hear it from the person who was betrayed, and that should be your most concern," Rhys trailed off and sent a harsh glare in Kyou"s direction, "I"m taking Lyn, and you are not seeing her again."
Before Lyn could even say a word, Rhys was already carrying her out of the room. Lyn could only wave a signal to Kyou, but Rhys intercepted even that. She sighed, "What a troublesome situation this is," Lyn thought. Lyn allowed Rhys to carry her away without too much fuss. She didn"t see the need to complain.
....
The reason Rhys was angry was supposedly he received an express message from the castle. Apparently, one more person would be joining them on this mission. When Lyn saw the familiar soldiers and carriage, her eyes go wide, "Ah, um? It"s Allen?"
Rhys said nothing, so f.u.kami answered, "Yes Princess, Prince Allen heard you were here and decided to come here. He already obtained permission from your brother."
Lyn deeply sighed, "So this is as little freedom as she will get, huh?" while she knew that there had to be a catch for her traveling beyond the castle walls, all the way to another Kingdom. Lyn thought they wouldn"t be so obvious about it. But it seems like they don"t care about that at all.
When Allen stepped out of the carriage, but Lyn avoided looking at him. She didn"t know what to say; she hadn"t seen him at all since that time, and they parted on awkward terms. It was hard to believe that he was standing here right in front of her, appearing just like the wind - Lyn sighed in her head. What a stupid comparison. But it felt like time had stopped.
"I"ve come for you."
As soon as she heard his voice, that familiar cold and arrogant tone, Lyn reacted like she usually would and frowned. After not seeing her for so long, he acts like an arrogant jerk?
"Why are you looking at me like that? After being deprived of my presence, all you are going to do is stare?"
There is no mistaken it; this man is her fiance - the Wind Kingdom"s Second Prince, Allen. They were engaged for such a long time, and nothing had ever come between them before. While they weren"t exactly in a loving relations.h.i.+p or anything like that, they respected one another.
But since Kazuya came, Lyn has completely neglected him - and since Allen started making those different transactions, he"s been neglecting her too before they"d at least spend some time with each other, whenever they see each other. But now? Now they seldom exchange words.
