The Tree of bones stood there, embracing the sky and land. The only exception was it completely corrupted and stained in black shade. The Tree lifted it"s bone branches to the sky as if it"s very presence was enough to beat back the sun and command the darkness to descend on the ground.Abium stood at the peak of that hill and observed that corrupted Tree and further perceived a few undead skeletons wandering near all over the region like small insects. But he knew more undead skeletons were lurking somewhere.
His eyes soon shifted to his left and saw a large tower pillar stood near a small Nether lake.
"Is that a magic tower? Abi! if that tower core is still operating, there may be a chance you can escape from that Lady!"
When Abium heard Azolla"s word, a glint of hope appeared in his eyes. He had waited for a piece of news like this. He didn"t desire to put his life on the line to protect some Tree of bones. He soon thought of move near that Tree to check carefully, but Azolla stopped him.
"Don"t go near to that Tree! it is the farthest distance you can reach without alerting that evil Lady."
True! He must be wary of that Lady. He didn"t want to die soon. Soon he turned his head, then waved others to follow him, and rushed towards the left side quietly. Others stealthily followed him to the magic tower and promptly arrived in front of that large tower.
The tower was shadowed in the twilight and resembled to be survived there for eternities. The small iron fence enclosed that magic tower leaving a single entry gate to access from the outside.
A ma.s.sive protective transparent shield was preventing the undead from moving near that tower. Abium additionally noted a stone carving of a middle-aged man set in front of the gate. He seemed to wear a crown on his head and carrying a small dragon in his hand.
Abium a.s.sumed it must be the ancient mage Skaktak specified earlier.
"Oh? I didn"t expect Legendary mage Runeth to arrive here to this undead plane after the battle!" Azolla"s commented.
"Do you know him?" He questioned out loud when Azolla stated about the mage.
"You don"t know? Kid! He is one of the ancient mages who could fight against G.o.ds, so everyone from that ancient era knew about him."
"Are you saying ancient mages are capable of opposing G.o.ds?" Abium asked. Because in the storybooks, only G.o.ds were able to kill all the evil G.o.ds and banished them from entering the maternal world. There was no mention of ancient mages at all, except they only helped in minor tasks.
"Killing a G.o.d is nearly impracticable for any mortal boy. Ancient mages capable of fighting and may kill only the avatar of the G.o.d. Once a person ascends to G.o.dhood, their physical form won"t be able to enter any plane. They will only stay inside their divine realm."
"Really? Then that means in that vision G.o.ddess Nyara only lost her avatar, right?"
Azolla replied with a sigh.
"It"s not a joking matter to losing an avatar kid. If the G.o.ddess avatar got killed means, she would also lose some of her divinity. I will inform you about that later once we get out of this situation."
"Why are you behaving strangely?" While Abium was conversing with Azolla, suddenly, Nicolaus asked him with puzzlement.
Abium instantly recovered, then waved his hand and stepped near the gate. Once Abium placed his hand at the entrance, he felt some spirit energy scanned him and others. Next instant, the gate unlocked and appeared to be welcoming everyone to tour inside the tower. He narrowed his eyes a little then vigilantly walked inside the tower.
Now he thought about it the tower seems not appropriately maintained for sometimes. Walls slightly covered in dust, and sometimes he saw black marks appeared. He saw a total of six floors from the outside.
"Ho! Matching with the Star tower, this tower seems smaller. I think this tower height will be one-fourth of that tower." Abium whispered while glancing at the tower.
"Azolla! Is it possible any artificial spirit like you may present inside this tower?"
"Quit daydreaming kid! Do you think it was so easy to create an artificial spirit? Runeth might be a legendary mage, but still, he can"t capable of creating a life out of nothing without others a.s.sistant."
Abium silently nodded his head and stepped inside the tower. While others stared wide-open eyes at the tower exterior structure, Umi"s eyes were glittering for the first time, and she seems to be whispering about something to her mother"s ears.
Abium chuckled at their response and strolled inside the tower. He soon opened the main hall and began to explore the six floors. The first four levels appear to be just an empty hall and some experimental labs. But once they entered the fifth floor, everyone was amazed. Inside the floor, Abium viewed a one large magic circle engraved.
With a single glimpse, he recognized to inscribe this magic circle demands a considerable amount of time. He then noted a huge Altar installed at the center.
"Abi! Go and touch that crystal. I will choose the correct coordination to our maternal plane." Azolla said. He quickly stepped ahead then touched that crystal, and the next moment a projection of many stars appeared in front of him. He saw millions of stars everywhere.
The twinkling of the stars was enchanting; they blinked and flickered away, and yet always returned like rogues hiding away in the shadows.
Then he saw the projection zoomed towards a particular area. Some cl.u.s.ters of stars also appeared in spiral-shaped. They have curved arms that make it look like a pinwheel. Other groups of stars were smooth and oval-shaped.
There were also had some irregular shapes and look like blobs. Soon the projection once again zoomed in towards one giant ball of fire. He finally noticed multiple spherical shaped objects encircling around that ball of fire. Once he saw the projection moved towards a sizeable blue object, few runic letters started to float enclosing that blue object and soon arranged into some unknown letters.
Then that projection slowly disappeared from there, and the floor returned to normal. Everyone was captivated by this scene and stood there dumbly for a few moments without creating any sound. Abium was the first one to woke up from the trance and examined all the sides.
He witnessed the same stones installed surrounding that magic circle. When he studied the magic circle profoundly, he viewed all those circles scripted in rune language.
"This is Dimensional teleportation magic circle Kid, quickly go to the top floor. We must change this tower control to you; otherwise, you won"t be able to leave. We also need high tier magic stones to activate this spell."
Abium nodded and quickly dashed forth to enter the core room while others waited on the fifth floor. Abium requested Nicolaus to observe that corrupted sacred Tree of bones from the windows and examine anything out of the ordinary.
Soon Abium arrived inside the core room, and instantly the room started to shine, then the entire tower quivered a little.

"What was that?!"
"It"s self-destruction alchemic mechanism. If an intruder invades the core room without the tower master"s approval, it will activate and destroy the whole tower. Quickly put your palm on that tower core, I will handle the rest."
Abium soon walked near the core and put his hand on the tower core. Next instant, he sensed his spirit drained a little and soon saw his mind connected to the tower core. Once again, he sensed the whole tower entirely within his grasp. He checked all the floors like seeing a map.
Abium knew Azolla changed the tower ownership to him and signed in relief. He saw Nicolaus shouting while pointing his fingers towards outside while Fennelis and Umi stood nervously behind him. Soon he checked other areas and soon found a hidden door on the first floor.
"Hey! Did you see that hidden wall? Let"s go there we might find something useful inside."
He acknowledged and quickly took his hand away from the core and started to run downstairs. But Azolla"s next word made him halt his movement.
"Use teleport spell from the tower core spells list."
Soon a blue screen materialized in front of his face. He understood this was the tower core"s function. He searched the teleport spell in the spell list and chose. In a flash, Abium vanished from the core room and discovered himself back on the first floor with a shocked expression on his face.
But soon, that smile turned into a frown when he noticed many undead skeletons smashing against the protective spell encircling the tower.
"d.a.m.n! It appears enemy noticed our presence earlier than I antic.i.p.ated."
Abium spoke in anxious.
"These skeletons won"t be capable of breaking this protective shield soon. Quickly open that hidden door, Kid!"
He nodded his head and kicked that wall in front of him. The wall destroyed and revealed a small metal door. The door was solid metal, and nothing seems going to budge it. The surface was flat and shiny like the outside of steel. There was no handle, no lock, no hinges, nothing to get a grip.
"An Alchemic lock! Put your palm on that metal."
Once he did that, the door unlocked and unveiled an entrance to a small room.
Three treasure chests laid there at the heart of that small room. Abium tensely stepped forth near the silver treasure chest on the left and slowly opened it.
A big sigh appeared out of Abium"s mouth when he noticed inside were full of magic stones and some other unknown gems. He tapped his ring and promptly stored it inside his spatial ring.
Then he shifted his gaze towards the remaining two treasure chests and walked forwards, but stopped when the tower started to shake.
"That soon? Is there any powerful enemy came? Ha! I will Store these two silver chests inside my ring for now."
Although he was inquisitive to check what was inside those two chests, he understood the present circ.u.mstances. Abium stored the remaining two silver chests and selected that teleport spell on the blue screen once again.
On the fifth floor, Nicolaus observing what was happening outside while Fennel stood restlessly carrying Umi. Suddenly, a figure materialized behind her caused her to be in a tense mode. Next second, she unsheathed her sword and thrust it directly towards Abium"s neck.
"Whoa! Wait. It"s me!"
He didn"t expect her to aim at his neck brutally. Abium soon evaded that attack and took two steps back.
"Oh? Sorry! I didn"t expect you to appear behind me suddenly."
"This Woman is also merciless."
Abium wiped his sweat and went near the window where Nicolaus observed the army of undead swarming outside. He noted the protective shield began to crack a little, and behind that army, a lone figure strolled towards the tower carelessly.
Abium stared at that figure, and soon he guessed that must be the Lady he saw in his vision. When she noticed Abium"s gaze, she stared right back at him with a wicked smile on her face. Abium suddenly froze on the spot and shivered without even knowing him.
The next instant, she created a sharp black spear out of nothing and launched it towards their direction. It traveled at an incredible speed then stabbed the Protective shield. It smoothly penetrated the protective layer and shattered it into multiple pieces leaving nothing behind. The tower stood with no protective layer to defend, and the following instant, all the undead skeletons swarmed instantly inside the tower.
