Rebirth Of Abium

Chapter 42

"d.a.m.n! Azolla, You said this protective shield wouldn"t be broken that easily. But why is this happening right now?" Abium shouted inside his mind in alarm.

"Kid, I said those skeletons wouldn"t be able to break that shield, and I never said that some monstrous being couldn"t do that. But still, I didn"t expect she would come out so soon."

Azolla narrowed his eyes and instantly activated Edietic memory function. In the next few moments, he began to memorized all tier spell names and got ready for the worst outcome. His eyes moved at a fast rate and quickly photocopied all those spells from those spell lists. But what made his expression to frown was the amount of mana inside the tower core remained a little low.

From what he a.n.a.lyzed from the screen, the tower had only a limited amount of mana to cast up to a single G.o.d-tier spell and three legendary spells. It took only three seconds for him to memorize those spell lists and calculate a perfect plan.

If Abium wanted to escape from here, then he must face that lady head-on. Although he was using the tower function still without his Eidetic memory, he wouldn"t be able to restrain her. Soon his eyes shifted towards the others and spoke in a severe tone while gave them a bunch of magic stones in a pouch.

"Both of you, I will try to restrain the enemy and buy a few seconds, so quickly place those magic stones near all the stone pillars. We must escape from here quickly."

Nicolaus and Fennelis nodded their heads and moved towards the small stone pillars to place those magic stones. They were already conscious of the current situation, and if they fail means everyone would face a miserable death. Abium soon returned his gaze to the outside then cast a third-tier Fire spell at the upcoming Undead army.

"Magma Storm."

Next second, a ma.s.sive storm of lava rose in front of that tower. The entire front area soon consumed in a sea of red, yellow, and orange flames, and the cries of the skeletons echoed into the darkness. When Abium saw this scene, his lips curled up a little.

Although he only destroyed less than twenty percent of that undead army, still he felt great at reducing the enemy numbers. But that grin soon faded when that lady made a crooked smile and snapped her fingers. It like commanding earth and heaven; an unbelievable thing occurred in front of his eyes.

Everyone around his surroundings abruptly resembled frozen. He shortly found his body and spirit restrained by something invisible power. A coldness crawled towards his spines, and soon an unknown fear arose. But the next moment, strange energy spread out from his every cell and nullified that invisible constraint.

He soon sighed in relief when his body usually performed again. But this moment, the lady halted her tracks and stared at him in bewilderment. But something caused her eyes to widen even more as she noticed that a tiny beast kin girl stood there and didn"t affect by her "Freeze movement" spell,

Although it was just a legendary spell that suspends the action of all living beings around a few kilometers" surroundings.

To resist that spell means one must be at-least fifth tier mage. But that lady knew that was not the case for both of them. A vicious grin emerged when she considered wounding both of them and get the answer from their mouths.

She fancied as she sliced open the back of that half-elf and exposed his lungs by twisting the ribs outwards to make them look like wings. How delicious would it be to eat that beast"s heart? She felt a refreshing feeling when she thought that.

Suddenly Abium shivered a little when he saw that lady"s gaze. He also quickly noted Umi was not affected by that spell and noted others frozen like a doll. Umi grabbed her mother"s hand and started to panic when she was not reacting. Tears began to overflow from her eyes. Abium"s mind also became turmoil for a second, and at the same time, felt fearful of the enemy.

"Azolla? Why didn"t G.o.ddess Nyara arrived here? I saw she battled against the lady in my vision." He questioned in confusion. If she were here, it would be easy to battle against the enemy.

"Kid! She will only appear when her chosen ones are in life-threatening danger. Plus, I know the G.o.ddess Nyara"s character very much. She sends everyone here because she believed you would save that corrupted tree of bones. But she didn"t appear to know another nasty monster lurking here. You are on your own, kid, G.o.ddess can"t interfere in other planes business, and she will only reveal her presence in exceptional cases."

Abium heart went stiff when he learned the answer. He shifted his gaze at the Umi and said.

"Umi! If you want to protect your mom and that big brother, then you have to accomplish the mission I am about to give you. got it?"

Umi wiped her tears and repeatedly nodded. She understands something terrible occurred like before and made her mom be frozen.

"Great! Put these magic stones near each of those thirteen stones quickly. Once you place those stones, tell me, then I will handle the rest, Okay?"

Abium lectured in a soft tone and took that pouch from Nicolaus and gave it to Umi. Meanwhile, that lady peered at him in amus.e.m.e.nt.

"Half-elf if you give me the heart of that beast girl, I will spare your life! How is it? Do you like that proposal? Don"t think you will be able to escape from my grasp!" She spoke with a malicious laugh on her face then started walking.

"Who are you? Why are you after us?" He asked in a sharp tone. The lady stopped her track and responded with a mischievous smile.

"My, My! How rude of me! Let me present myself, mortal child. My name is Ela, G.o.ddess of torture. Now, what is your answer?"

"Always the same. Humph, I decline!"

"Abi! You must prevent her from entering the tower at all costs. If she entered, it would be difficult to fight with her. She seems to be an unknown G.o.ddess, so utilize one of that G.o.d-tier spell to restrict her movement and escape."

He agreed at Azolla"s warning then cast another spell. This time it was one unique G.o.d-tier spell he discovered inside the defensive spell list. Even the tower itself shuddered a little later a large quant.i.ty of mana gathered around the tower.

When Abium cast that spell, Ela quickly saw the surrounding started to change, and the nearby wasteland and nether lake vanished. The Surroundings replaced with an abundant of seawater. Soon, she stood on a tiny deserted island encircled by full of sea. Sun rose directly above her and presented her with a warm feeling.

"Illusion world" That was the first thought came to her mind when she found herself inside that world.

"Why would he create a world like this? If the world made full of fine metal spikes and whenever I step on, wouldn"t that be more fun?" She pondered how naive that half-elf was and also little astounded and didn"t suspect that an empty magic tower holds such power.

But she soon made her expression natural and gently tried to cast a spell to give a shock to her next plaything. Even with this much help from the magic tower function, one needed a considerable amount of attention to maintain this "illusion world" spell. If caster couldn"t be capable of keeping that spell in stable means, backslash would follow.

Ela made a s.a.d.i.s.tic expression and slowly cast a spell to broke the concentration of the half-elf, but soon her face turned serious. She couldn"t be able to break that illusion spell! How could a mortal able to maintain this illusion world? It"s almost impossible unless he had some legendary artifact to a.s.sist him. "This tower has an artificial spirit? How come I didn"t hear any information from that Lich As"zus?"

She soon dispersed those ideas and thought of what to do next. Although she was not an expert in illusions, she heard something about this "illusion world" spell. The spell caster could control everything inside that illusion world. Slowly she noticed the tides started to rise higher.

Soon a ma.s.sive tsunami wave emerged in front of her and made her shudder a little. When the water touched the land, it wasn"t with the gentleness of spring rain but the power of an alchemic bomb-blast shock wave. She immediately attempted to cast an "Ice age" spell to froze the sea, but nothing followed. Suddenly she found herself unable to cast any spells at all, which caused her expression grave. She now recognized that mortal controlled the illusion world entirely.

On the outside, Abium opened his eyes wide and observed a large amount of contaminated mana encircled that G.o.ddess then soon chilling energy commenced spreading in every direction. Ela"s eyes appeared to be unfocused, but that ice spell she cast disrupted his concentration a little. He soon coughed up some blood, and still stood there, maintained the illusion world using his full focus.

Yes, it was one of the Azolla"s functions, which made his mind calmer and quicker to think. He perceived that half of his spirit already exhausted and started to become agitated. He required four spirits to stabilize those two spell models, so he now left with only eight spirit power. What made him more startle was that ice spell cast by Ela appears mixed with blood and unpleasant scents, which gave him a creepy feeling.

Soon the nether lake, magic tower surroundings started to freeze by that freaky ice. Wherever that ice spreads, nearby areas began to corroded in black and slowly started to produce a foul smell everywhere.

He soon caught Umi"s voice from behind and noted a change in the center of the magic circle. He figured right away, Umi successfully installed those magic stones near those small stone pillars. A small portal started to appear. He smiled in relief, then grabbed both of the frozen Nicolaus, and Fennelis then tossed them into the gateway. The next moment he teleported in front of Umi and took her then dashed towards the portal at maximum speed.

Meanwhile, Ela witnessed that monstrous wave smashed against her own body in that illusion, and soon she swallowed by that seawater. She felt suddenly suffocated feeling and whirled inside the salt.w.a.ter. Abruptly, she noticed a slight variation that occurred in that illusion world. For a split second, Ela sensed corrupted mana and without hesitation, used that opportunity.

Following instant, she screeched inside her mind then used a spell at her own body. "Dark Thunder"

Once again, in the real world, a large number of clouds started to gather. Several dark lighting began to strike directly towards the tower surrounding, and one particular bolt directly stuck at Ela"s head.

Soon a sinister smile emerged on her face and slowly opened her eyes in the real world. She used that lightening to broke from that illusion world spell. A hateful cry emerged from her mouth and unsheathed her black sword then bounced up towards the fifth floor through the window like a panther.

At the same time, Abium arrived near that portal and quickly initiated the self-destruction function in the tower core. He already noticed Ela broke that illusion world spell, so he shrugged his shoulder at her hateful glare from the back. Once she reached inside that fifth floor, Abium scanned her whole body seemed to be surrounded by some black miasma and releasing a sinister aura.

He knew she was infuriated and might go on a rampage at any moment. Cold sweat emerged on his temples, and he understood he provoked this G.o.ddess very much. So he gave an apologetic bow towards her and leaped into that portal.

Meanwhile, Ela stared at him with a devilish smile, which shows "you can"t escape within my grasp" look, but quickly she froze. The smile faded from her face and replaced it with a shocked expression. Without hesitation, she cast a teleport spell and thought of escape from that place.

But still, it took her a minute amount of time to cast a spell. That short time was enough to make Ela face a nightmare. Sudden booming reverberates from the magic tower. A series of new flashes broke out, lifting and spreading the incandescent ga.s.ses, and then a great gush of flame rose.

A column of pure raging fire element created by the alchemic explosion; the next blast of flame, in a lateral sheet, came at nearly ten thousand feet above the ground. And great rags of fire, changing from red to violet and back through the spectrum to red again, went soaring away to dissipate in the upper atmosphere.

Slowly a figure emerged out of thin air a few kilometers away from that explosion with an agonizing scream. Ela slowly dropped from the sky while her whole body was on fire. Both her hands were gone entirely in that bang, and her whole body resembled in black. Even though her form was just an avatar, she underwent a real burning pain all over her body in the actual body in her divine realm.

A raging hatred rose inside her mind toward that half-elf. Soon she cast a spell, and her body started to restore to normal. Then she vanished from that place, leaving no trace of her signs behind. But the entire area was devastated, and that corrupted tree of bones damaged by the shock waves.
