Jiro saw that he was within a giant nest. The nest was four times taller than he was. There was one egg inside the nest with him. It was currently about half his height and two times larger than he was. Jiro looked around the nest and all that was available was a message engraved into a piece of stone.

All it said was: "Take care of the egg". Jiro looked around once more to see if he missed anything. He noticed that the floor was formed by a bunch of interconnected sticks and the bottom was softened by a bunch of dried leaves that felt similar in texture to hay.

After exploring the whole of the nest a couple of times, Jiro saw nothing else so he began to climb the nest to the top in hopes of finding out where he was and he saw that he was on top of a tree that was much larger than the trees he saw in Konoha. There was also a river that was raging beneath, near the side of the tree. Jiro began to mentally compile all the information that he was going to need.

Firstly, he had no weapons on him, but the chakra in the atmosphere was pervasive so Jiro quickly cast a small fireball in his hand to see if he could recover chakra quicker in here than outside. Jiro found that he could recover chakra much faster in here than outside meaning that he could use ninjutsu to subst.i.tute for his lack of weapons.

Secondly, the task that Jiro had to do was take care of the egg. Until when, Jiro did not know, but he was trying to compile all the information he knew about eagles in taking care of their young. Jiro only managed to figure that he should warm the egg with his fire attributed chakra while catching food to feed it when it hatches.

Jiro began to wrap his chakra around the egg in order to warm it when it suddenly started to absorb his chakra. Jiro saw this as a key training opportunity. He first formed a shadow clone with half his chakra to explore the area below and perhaps get some food. He then began to give his chakra to the egg while making sure to heat the area around it to make sure it stayed warm. Whenever, he got low on chakra, Jiro would sit and meditate to absorb chakra from the atmosphere while feeding it into the egg.

The shadow clone climbed down from the tree to the land and the river below. He looked at the river which looked more like a raging sea and turned away from it clearly knowing that it would be near impossible for a fire nature chakra person knowing only fire jutsu to succeed in an environment like that. He looked at the vast forest lying ahead of him before deciding to tree walk and look for a suitable piece of meat to eat.

He dodged past the swing of an angry bee while running through the forest looking for a suitable place to hide. He had spotted a bee hive several minutes into the forest and the honey dripping from it looked healthy and delicious. He got in while burning a torch below the bees leaving them dazed before eating a significant portion of honey. He was amazed to find that the chakra he had inside him was increased by a significant portion putting him back into full capacity. Unfortunately, the bees were no longer dazed and very angry at the thief that stole from them.

He smelled of their honey so the bees chased after him, but he finally lost them after hiding, except he was spotted by one bee. He got a great idea after realizing that insects were also edible. He led the single bee to an area of the forest farther from the nest before lighting the bee on fire with the fireball jutsu which quickly burnt it to a crisp.

He ripped off the head of the bee before ripping out the stinger which fit well in his hand like a kunai. He tried to break the stinger, but it held strong. He finally waited for about an hour to see if the bees would come after him, but when he noticed that the bees did not come, he brought the insect and the stinger to the original.

Jiro let the memories flow over him as he looked at the burnt bee and the stinger. The bee was the same size as him which showed how deadly they could be while the hive itself was easily larger than the nest by a factor of five. Fortunately, the number of bees was on a smaller scale standing at about five hundred, but Jiro would have to use his sharingan to know for sure. He looked at the stinger again, but he activated his sharingan to see how it worked. There were tiny holes inside the stinger tip indicating that venom would flow when the stinger stabbed into something.

Jiro formed another shadow clone to test his hypothesis. The clone grabbed the bee and ate some of it before giving Jiro a thumbs up saying that it tasted like chicken. Jiro ignored it, but told it to stay active for another twenty four hours to see if there would be any negative effects behind eating the bee.

Jiro formed another clone and indicated for it to stab itself with the stinger. It immediately fell to the floor, not paralyzed, but feeling agony beyond measure. The clone was able to stand up after another hour pa.s.sed. It gave Jiro a pitiful look before dissipating. Jiro mentally braced himself for the pain of running through the clones memory, but the pain was surreal. Even though it was a memory, he felt the pain just the same. It felt like there was something alive just burrowing through his body.

Jiro had a sudden epiphany and looked harder at the stinger. He noticed tiny wisps of chakra were coming off of the stinger and that chakra must have been what caused him so much pain. He gently cupped a wisp of chakra and fed some of his to it to see how it would react. It immediately turned into a drill like shape.

There were multiple rings to the drill and the rings were spinning in different directions while tiny spikes were present on all the rings. Jiro pulled back his finger, curious to see what might happen if he let it attack his body, but he was afraid that it would cause very dangerous physical damage to his body. In this rather unknown and new environment, it would be better to stay on the side of caution.

Eventually, the wisp disappeared when the chakra necessary to keep on running it ran out, but Jiro had observed it using his sharingan. He was planning on copying that chakra shape and using it to attack others. Jiro had one more thing to do, he wanted to see how his chakra could block that drill so he formed another shadow clone before instructing for it to let the drill attack him while using his chakra to try and block it.

The shadow clone stood no chance, before it dissipated, it gave Jiro a glare blaming him for the pain it had to endure. Jiro ran through the memory of the clone and saw that the chakra sent at it to stop it for hinder it was either used by the drill or just torn apart by the shape of the drill. The drill was like an anti chakra device that still used chakra. The most interesting thing was that he could potentially train his chakra control enough to form the same shape as the drill.

Jiro finally wanted to see how it would work externally so he fed chakra into the stinger making a giant drill bloom from the tip of the stinger. He formed another shadow clone which would throw a fireball at it while a third clone would hold the stinger. Jiro would watch what happened with his sharingan and protect the nest as well as the egg.

The fireball crashed into the drill, but it was torn apart into strands of fire which dissipated. Jiro had the clones repeat it except the fireball would explode right in front of the drill. The drill did nothing to stop the air currents sent rushing over from the explosion. Jiro dissipated the clones which were experimenting before going to sleep with his back against the egg while activating his chakra to leak out and feed the egg.

Jiro woke up the next morning to the egg, except it was a tad bit larger than yesterday. The shadow clone was still fine after eating the bee and it continued to eat until it finished off the bee. He stopped licking his fingers to turn to Jiro.

"Original, the bee tastes like their honey and it recovers my chakra. So far, I feel fine."

Jiro kept the shadow clone up as he wanted to make sure that the bee was safe to eat both for him and for the baby eagle that would hopefully hatch soon.
