A Mexican standoff. Cally wanted the popcorn dripping with b.u.t.ter and Jessie and Abby wanted Vampires stories."Give me the popcorn and n.o.body gets hurt." Nuh uh. Spill it. We want details!"

Cally dropped her chin to her chest, after a minute she raised sparkly tear drenched eyes. Her hands were outstretched in a pleading begging for succor manner. "Ah come on! Please prettty please! I"ll be good! I"ll tell! Please Mommy? Boo hoo Boo Hoo! I wants it! I needs it!"

Jessie sighed, "Oh for Christ"s sake give her the popcorn before she starts performing a Greek tragedy." "Hmph." Abby thumped the popcorn down in front of the ravenous wolf. Who grabbed it a stuffed a handful in her mouth. "Mmmm" "So good." Cally took a long drink of her milk and sat both aside and looked at her audience. Leaning her head back to rest on the sofa cushions she stared into s.p.a.ce. "The first vampire I ever met was in Egypt. She was some kind of priestess of Sakhet. I don"t know the first vampire or where the first one appeared. Vampires have appeared in different places at different times."

Abby was confused, "What do you mean appeared? Like they popped up out of the blue?"

"Yeah, Like pimples. One day you"re fine and the next day, poof, you have a pimple." Raising her hand as if to wipe off words from a blackboard, she continued. "All vampires must drink blood. Some can only drink blood to survive while some need other foods too. It depends on where in the world they popped up from. The ideology behind them. It can be confusing. Some demons, for want of a better term, are "The Undead" while others were never dead at all and just need blood to survive."

"So you are saying there are different kinds of vampires." "Hmm yes. Wouldn"t you call a creature that needs to drink blood in order to survive a vampire?" Jessie and Abby thought for a bit and finally nodded. "Some vampire could more accurately be called ghouls, witches, real demons, fairy, even some ghosts need to attain blood before they..." "WHAT?!" "Are you saying fairies are real?" "You"re saying those things are real too? OMG!" Speaking over each other, yelling at Cally, stopping to confer with each other before yelling more questions, they really didn"t give her time to answer.

Cally continued eating her yummy hot b.u.t.tered popcorn and drinking her milk while watching the girls freak out. This was too funny. Better than watching a rerun on tv. Finally taking a breath, the girls noticed Cally was laughing at them and staying quiet not answering their string of questions. "You"re putting us on! You made all this up!"

Sipping her milk, she looked up with a milk mustache. Licking her lips, "No my Dears. Humans were right to fear the dark and things that go b.u.mp in the night. Of course just because they found a dead body with no apparent injuries didn"t mean it was always witchcraft or some other ent.i.ty. It could have been a heart attack or stroke. But now just because someone had a stroke doesn"t mean it wasn"t brought on by a ghost." Judging they would ask her questions for the next few days or until her ears bled, whichever came first, she decided to make a hasty retreat.

"UMM so tired. I just flew in from Washington you know? - and boy, are my arms tired. Thanks for the popcorn but I am so so sleepy. I"ll see you in the morning." Cally hastily stood and started to head to her room. Stopping suddenly she ran back and grabbed the remaining popcorn and left rapidly as Jessie and Abby protested that she couldn"t leave them like this!

Jessie looked after Cally"s disappearing figure, "You KNOW what this means?" Abby also staring a now empty hallway said, "War?" Jessie jerked her gaze to her BFF. "No, silly, all night google research party. Let"s call Sarah!"
