- Tuesday, Ribekia -"Welcome Princess. Hope you had a pleasant flight."
The man carefully opened the door for the woman. Carlos, Carla"s personal bodyguard that had come to Ribekia earlier, could feel the impeding dangers. His team didn"t manage to get the name of the woman from the day before, and he could already imagine the consequences.
As soon as Carla boarded the car she said in her commanding voice;
"Your deadline is up. Where is the information?"
Carlos"s face went blank. He truly hoped that the princess would not be as annoying as ever. It was way too difficult to talk to her but he still kept his voice steady.
"Reporting to Princess: the "Great wave" complex where that woman lives has one of the highest levels of security in the country. Our men tried to hack them but were unsuccessful."
Noticing the rising temper of the woman he continued in a monotonic voice;
"Yesterday the woman came out alone from the restaurant and a black cab picked her up. I tried to follow them, but on the way a car b.u.mped into my car and the driver wouldn"t let me go until the policeman came. I and our hacker tried to look at the surveillance of the place but it seems that William Harding"s people have already deleted every recording."
He found the events of yesterday quite peculiar. It was like the G.o.ds didn"t want him to see that woman"s face. The day before he and their hacker had followed Will to the complex. First, the guards at the entrance of the complex blocked their sight not letting them see a wisp of the woman. Then, in the streets, she had her whole face covered. And when they were to finally see her that d.a.m.ned black cab came and took her home. He didn"t even want to remember about that crazy driver who almost cost him his life. And what was with that person"s statement "One should mind his own business"? Why did he meet a psycho?
However, that guy was not the only psycho in his life. The biggest psycho was currently in his car threatening to burst any moment. And alas, he didn"t have to wait much:
"You! Incompetent idiot! How dare you call yourself a professional agent!? Why has father even kept you!?..."
She continuously yelled at him for a good few minutes. If any of the people in Silveria saw her now they wouldn"t believe that this was their kind and frail princess.
Finally, she threw another order at him;
"Give me Will"s schedule for the day," her voice turning vicious she continued, "and get the information on that s.l.u.t however you want. This is the last chance you have. Fail to complete it and I will make your life into a h.e.l.l."
Hearing the woman"s words the man inwardly rolled his eyes. When did she become so familiar with William Harding? More importantly, she held no actual power yet, but acted as if the world belonged to her. If it wasn"t for the king he wouldn"t even listen to this scornful princess.

As usual, Sia woke up early in the morning. She couldn"t help but remember yesterday"s night. It was weird how Cain gave her such a strong feeling of security and belonging. While studying neurosurgery one of her electives was psychology. But, despite knowing both psychology and neuroscience, she could not explain the influence Cain had on her. It was irrational how a simple talk with him could rid her of all her nightmares and instead fill her dreams with dazzling magic.
Thinking about Cain, she involuntarily grinned. She quickly picked up her phone, intending to wish him good luck. He had told her, that today he was going to meet the last of the four supporters.
The old emperor had chosen him, but the second person rejected him straight away, while the third was still contemplating. She couldn"t help but worry about him. After all, the Vallauris heir had the support of the previous two generations of the emperors. Though Cain had the support of the Greydales, they were more of a military family compared to Vallauris that were an underworld power all over.
After she had learned about his situation she had done her research on his opponent. Everyone thought that Cain and Luke were the same: ruthless and cold-blooded. But, only she knew that the truth was much more complicated. Cain was not such a simple character to be described by a mere two words: no, he was much more than that...
All of a sudden she snapped back from her thoughts upon receiving the familiar notification. Seemed like he beat her to writing first. She opened his message with a smile on her face, but it soon vanished when she saw the contents;
"Good morning love. Were my reading skills adequate for my Queenie?" - King
"The location and conditions in which I am meeting that person are a bit tricky. So I won"t be in contact today. I am well prepared and there won"t be any danger whatsoever so no need to worry." - King
Even though he told her not to worry, she couldn"t help but do so. What kind of situation he was in to not be able to even contact her?
"I can"t just stand aside all the time. Sorry, Cain, but seems like I am going to get involved one way or another or else I might die of worries."
A resolute glint flashed in her eyes. Yes, that was right. She had talents and no way she was going to waste them when she could be of help to him.
She started preparing for the hospital while doing mental planning. From the information she had gathered she knew that as of now the Lion was the favoured candidate and he had more support in the underworld. But, what mattered to her more, was that according to the regulations the two remaining successors were not allowed to kill each other. At least she could be at ease that his life was not in danger. Not yet at least...
From what Cain had told her it seemed that there were overall seven "judges" that would make the decision on behalf of the "crown". These people included the previous three emperors and the heads of the strongest families. However, Cain"s situation was unfavored from the very beginning. The two generations of the previous emperors were Vallauris and Luke would naturally get their votes. On the other hand, Cain had only one indisputable vote from the Greydale family head that was among the judges. So everything now depended on the four people remaining. If Cain did not manage to get this last person he would not be able to win at all.
Cain had also explained the other day, that one of the reasons he as a "King" was unavailable a lot of times was because of the conditions they were given. The crucial factor affecting the selection was the power they harboured based on which the judges were to make decisions. If, say, Cain was much weaker than Luke, even his own family would not be able to choose him. Because of this, they were regularly attacking each other"s bases to weaken the other"s forces for the past three years. And as of now, just before the end of the selection, they were pretty much equally matched which was why they started directly contacting the judges.
She was a doctor and a hacker. It seemed that her second ident.i.ty was much more useful to him than the first. Hacking straight into the gadgets of the Lion might be dangerous, as he would surely have his means of protection. But she still could hack the people around him. Or she could create problems at his company, so that he would not have time for the underworld fight. Or maybe start spreading information on him... Or...
She finally had an idea. But remembering that she was still in a showdown with the unknown group, she first checked the status of the "battle". After confirming that they were far from dealing with her bug, she left the house while perfecting her plan...
