"Most of the times, crooks like to pa.s.s off these teardrops of the vermilion bird as the teardrops of a phoenix. Many do ge" fooled by this scheme, but if you know yeh magical creatures well. Then you can spot it, all you have to look for is the shine that the tears release..."As I listened to the half giant rant on and on about the slight differences between a vermilion bird and a phoenix, a part of me thought, ahh, man you can really go on and on forever, if you really wanted, huh.
But the more serious part of me was really worried and anxious since, well come on, I am in deep s.h.i.t right now. It is indeed very obvious and apparent why Hagrid is angry at me. The man must have thought that I was trying to cheat him, but I did not try to do that at all.
For once I was going to go through with something in full honesty and fairness, but here I am, in trouble. Man, this really makes it difficult for me to be a goody two shoes, if I am going to get in trouble for things that are not my fault.
No, it has that f.u.c.king old man fault, that old b.a.s.t.a.r.d really did pull one over me.
Well, to be absolutely fair, I too did pull one over him so it sort of does even out. But f.u.c.k that if I am going to see things like that. I am the man, here that pull one over people, not the other way around.
I glanced over at Hagrid who was near the end of explaining the differences between a vermilion bird and a phoenix. I really do need to clear up this misunderstanding or the half giant will never, ever, speak to me again. And if that ever happens, well it would be clear that I will not be able to get any more ingredients from him. I really need Hagrid, since he is my only supplier and he always does bring in a very good haul from the Forbidden Forest, meaning that he always has some uncommon or some times, a rare ingredients.
Also, to become good at potionnering it takes a lot of practice and experimentation, meaning I need a lot of ingredients to do that, ingredients that only Hagrid provides me. We have a good working relationship that I would really like to keep going, and it is beneficiary all around, so all the more reasons to keep it going.
Anyways it works really simple, Hagrid brings me some ingredients from the Forbidden Forest, I use those ingredients from the Forbidden Forest to experiment, upgrade my mastery in potionnering, and make new and interesting potions. Then I give a portion of those potions to Hagrid to do what ever he wants with them, but the man is pure hearted. Rather than selling them off, which can net him a pretty good cash flow, he instead uses them on magical creatures that are injured and what not.
Woah, if that was me I would totally been selling those potions and butchering those magical creatures on the side for ingredients, to net me even more cash. But I am not Hagrid, who is a good hearted person.
So to make it clear I need to clear this mess up, or this great partnership will go up in smoke. If I thought that karma was real, I would have thought that this must be retribution for tricking an old kindly man on the last leg of his life. But that is not the view I had at all, not in the very least at all. It clear, with the type of personality I have, that I am going to seek out revenge against that "kindly old man," maybe even steal his phoenix while I am at it. Now that would really give a good heart attack, haha.
But first, let"s get this issue solved before I start hatching plans against Dumbledore. I first cleared my throat to get rid of the jitters I was feeling at the moment, and then turned to faced Hagrid with a sincere and serious look in my eyes.
"Look Hagrid, I did not know that this was the teardrops of a vermilion bird. Believe me, when I got this I totally believed that it was teardrops of a phoenix."
Hagrid watched me as I explained myself, and I guess my excuse was working since his anger had dulled, but it was not all the way there since there was still suspicious. I could work with that I thought smugly in my mind, just got to tell the truth and this will clear up...

My mind came to a complete halt when I thought about telling the truth. No way that is going to work at all, I sighed to myself in self deprecation. If I tell Hagrid that Professor Dumbledore gave me these fake tears he will not believe me at all.
Let me tell you something about Hagrid, the man perceives Professor Dumbledore words near to laws, his dedication towards him is near to worship, and he would be just short of attacking anyone who insults or bad mouth Professor Dumbledore.
And you cannot blame him for that, at Hagrid"s lowest point in his life, you know, when Hagrid got expelled for Hogwarts for something he did not do and when his father died. Professor Dumbledore took him in, gave him a place, and a job. That must have been a real surprise to everyone including Hagrid since the man has stains on his record, even though it was totally false. Still, it was there and it was known, also do not forget wizard kinds hatred and disgust toward giants, which spills of to half giants as well.
Now if I tell him that his idol tricked me, a little kid. What f.u.c.k would he think, huh? I would be surprised if he ever spoke to once more, if I did say that to his face. So I am literally trapped between a rock and a hard place.
