To avoid being unnecessarily noticed, I walked calmly among the crowd and didn"t gave them a look at all. When I successfully got out of the hospital, I remained calm and walked aimlessly.Who knows how many hours have pa.s.sed, I sat inside a fast food chain. Spending little as possible, I only bought a hamburger and asked for a cup of water, which, as we all know, is always free.
While eating, someone sat beside me. It was the guy in lab coat, eating French fries.
"Want some?" he offered. I shook my head and just stared at him, full of shock. He just smiled at me and let me be as he continued to eat his fries.
I badly wanted to ask him what was he doing here but I knew that the moment I ask him that, I"d have to suffer the consequences.
After roughly half an hour, he stood up and walked to the counter, buying more food. Knowing that this was my chance, I calmly walked out of the food chain and walked briskly towards who knows where.
When I felt that n.o.body would be able to follow me anymore, I sat down on a bench and rested my legs for a while. Unexpectedly, I lost my consciousness.

I woke up groggily. I noticed how I was on a comfortable bed and knew it was weird but as dumb as I can be, I just let it pa.s.s and tried to sleep again.
Well, you can"t blame me. Who knows how many kilometers I"ve walked last night!
After another round of resting, I finally became fully alert and got up, scanning my surroundings.

This clearly wasn"t a hospital room.
I scanned the room and noticed how the place was dull but clean yet it feels like no one ever lived here. There were a few furnitures but all of them were unbelievably empty. The weird thing was, it was very obvious that these wooden furnitures were old but there were no dust, marks or whatsoever.
Where am I?
After a while, I decided to walk around the room and look for… well, I don"t know. The door suddenly made a noise, like someone was unlocking it. I immediately ran to the bed and acted like I was just sitting there peacefully all this while.
The door opened and it showed the guy who was wearing a lab coat yesterday. He was now carrying a tray of food in his left hand and holding a key in his right.
He must have expected that I was still asleep because when he saw that I was already sitting on the bed, his eyes widened in shock before replacing it with an amiable smile.
My heart suddenly jumped. It wasn"t because of infatuation but rather, fear. This guy… I really need to be careful around him.
After putting the tray down on a nearby table, he sat on the bed and looked back to me.
"How are you feeling?"
Instead of answering, I subconsciously a.s.sessed him in my mind. He was a typical thin but tall man. His looks were a bit above average with his tall nose taking most of the credit. His eyes were a bit slanted, similar to the woman from yesterday. His thin lips were closely tied together, forming an almost straight line.
He may look like an innocent smart guy but I wasn"t easily fooled by the façade he was putting up front. I can clearly see the invisible wall around his inner emotions which almost all of the people wouldn"t be able to see pa.s.s through.
Almost all. If "all" of the people included me.
I chose not to be too obvious in reading his inner thoughts – it was better to be safe than sorry. I never know what will happen to me if I showed my suspicions to him. I know that I have no memories but that didn"t mean that I"ve the world"s most stupid person.
[Well, sometimes I claim that t.i.tle but….. let"s not talk about the future for now.]
Getting no answer to his question, his thin lips twitched a bit, indicating that he was getting impatient but he immediately hid it.
This guy….. is probably more dangerous than the other man and woman yesterday. Wait no, let me correct that. The man and this guy are equally dangerous but the other man seemed more naturally good-tempered than this one in front of me.
"Do you not know how to talk?" The guy asked, finally snapping. I acted as if I was trying my best to let out a voice, creating little squeaks from time to time, making him furrow his brows. After a while, he seem convinced that I really can"t talk. He then quickly went out of the room and locked it from the outside.
When I felt that his presence was finally gone, I breathed out loud. I didn"t even notice that I was holding my breath right from the start.
