Some time pa.s.sed, and the sixteen town"s people and their mayor returned with bags full of food.

Looking over everyone except for Faiy and Ryan, Liya said, "I want each and every one of you to give me two days worth of food."

Faiy nodded her head in agreement.

The sixteen town"s people furrowed their eyebrows and began looking at each other.

The mayor frowned. "Why should we give our food to you?" he said, voicing out his and the thoughts of all the sixteen town"s people,

Hearing the mayor"s words, Liya had no change of expression on her face, Faiy frowned, and the sixteen town"s people unfurrowed their eyebrows, looked at Liya and nodded their heads. As they too, were curious as to why they had to give two days worth of food to her. But then Faiy opened her mouth, making everyone turn their heads to her and making the sixteen town"s people stare at her in shock because of what she said, "Liya is a hero. A hero who with her partner Ryan killed all the goblins that were attacking our village and saved us all. So who are you, mayor, uncles and aunties to question and to doubt her?"

The sixteen town"s people, all lowered their heads in shame, looking at the ground as they dared to question their saviour.

The mayor narrowed his eyes, glaring at Faiy, as he didn"t expect that his own granddaughter would speak against him.

And Ryan happily barked, "*Woof!*"

Raising her right eyebrow, Liya thought, "I was planning to just drop Faiy off in the capital, but maybe I should keep her around… I will make that decision when we reach the capital."

The sixteen town"s people bowed with their already lowered heads. "We apologise, hero! Please forgive us, hero!" they said in unison.

Faiy looked over the sixteen bowing town"s people and nodded her head in satisfaction, but then her eyes moved to the mayor and their eyes met. She opened her mouth as she wanted to say something, but before she could, Liya who looked over everyone except for Faiy and Ryan said, "It"s fine, you can all raise your heads."

The sixteen town"s people straightened out and raised their heads, looking at Liya.

The mayor moved his eyes from Faiy, and Faiy moved her eyes from the mayor, both moving their eyes to Liya.

"I will answer that question as I can see that you are all curious."

The sixteen town"s people slowly nodded their heads one after another and the mayor narrowed his eyes.

"You don"t have to, Liya," Faiy said.

Glancing at Faiy, Liya said, "It"s fine." She looked over the sixteen town"s people and their mayor. "The two days worth of food is the price of your escort. And before you complain, eight days worth of food is more than enough food for our six-day journey."

The sixteen town"s people nodded their heads, all accepting Liya"s reason. But then the mayor coldly harrumphed and everyone turned their heads to him. "Price for the escort? I was under the impression that you were a hero and not a mercenary."

The sixteen town"s people began turning their heads, looking at each other and murmuring between themselves.

Faiy frowned. "Of course she is a hero! And Hero"s have to be rewarded for their deeds! What"s wrong with her asking for compensation?!" she shouted out angrily.

The mayor turned his head to Faiy. "My dear granddaughter, heroes don"t ask for compensation before they do the deed, mercenaries do. Liya was her name? She isn"t a hero, but a mercenary." He turned his head away from Faiy, turning it across the sixteen town"s people. "My citizens, let"s not go to this capital. Let"s rebuild our walls and protect ourselves like we always had."

The sixteen town"s people turned their heads to the mayor. "Mayor, I am still going. Mercenary or a hero, it doesn"t matter," one man out of the sixteen town"s people said. The others began nodding their heads and voicing out their agreement. There was not a single person that didn"t wish to leave with Liya and Ryan.

The mayor"s eyes widened in disbelief. "You all?!" he couldn"t help but shout out.

Faiy"s eyes widened in happiness. "You all?!" she couldn"t help but shout out.

Looking over everyone but Faiy and Ryan for the third time, Liya said, "I want each and every one of you to give me two days worth of food. Those that don"t can still follow me, but I won"t go out of my way to protect them."

The sixteen town"s people nodded their heads. They began one-by-one walking up to Liya and handing her their two days worth of food which all vanished into thin air and appeared inside her inventory. They, the mayor and Faiy didn"t think much about the food disappearing into thin air as they all thought that she had one of the spatial items that allowed an individual to store items within them.

Faiy walked up to Liya and extended her two days worth of food. "Here you go, Liya."

Nodding her head and accepting Faiy"s two days worth of food, Liya said, "Do you have enough for six days?"

"Yes, I have food for seven more days."

"Good," Liya said and turned her head to the mayor. "What about you? You want my protection or not?"

The mayor snickered and reluctantly walked up to Liya, giving her his two days worth of food.

Nodding her head, Liya looked over everyone except for Ryan as she said, "We are going to walk in groups of four with the last group being only Ryan. I will lead with Faiy and one of you. When we encounter goblins, I will protect the first, the second and the third group. Ryan will protect the fourth and the fifth group. We will eat twice per day in the morning before continuing on our journey and in the evening before going to sleep. Understood?"

Faiy nodded her head. "Yes, Liya."

The sixteen town"s people nodded their heads. "Understood," they said in unison.

The mayor nodded his head without saying anything.

The sixteen town"s people and the mayor talked between themselves and five groups got formed.

In the first group, there were Liya, Faiy and a middle-aged man. In the second group, there were two middle-aged men and one middle-aged woman. In the third group, there were two middle-aged women and one middle-aged man. In the fourth group, there were one middle-aged man and two middle-aged women. In the fifth group, there was one middle-aged man, one middle-aged woman and the mayor. And in the last group, the sixth group there was only Ryan.

With the first group leading the way, they left the town.

Walking for a little less than twenty minutes, Liya suddenly stopped and raised her right arm sideways as two corpses with bloated stomachs appeared in front of them. "Stop!" she shouted out and began unsheathing her two two-handed swords.

"What"s wrong, hero?" the middle-aged man that was in the first group said, confused.

Faiy furrowed her eyebrows. "It"s the goblins."

The middle-aged man furrowed his eyebrows and turned his head looking around. "I don"t see them."

"They are hiding inside those two corpses, but why don"t you know this?" Liya said and slightly tilted her head in confusion.

"Why did we stop?!" someone from the third group shouted out.

"Don"t move, I will be right back, " Liya said before das.h.i.+ng at the two corpses with bloated stomachs.

"There are goblins in the front!" The middle-aged man from the first group shouted out as he looked at Liya charging at the two corpses with bloated stomachs.

"Goblins! Run for your lives!" Someone that had an elderly voice from the fifth group shouted out and ran off in the direction from where they came from.

The fourth group, the third group and the second group looked back to the fifth group while the first group looked at Liya who charged at the two corpses with bloated stomachs.

"After the mayor, run!" Another shout from the fifth group sounded, but this one belonged to a middle-aged man and he ran after the man that had run out.

"What are you doing, don"t run off!" Another shout sounded from the fifth group, but this one belonged to a middle-aged woman and she didn"t run out like the previous two.

"Yeah! Listen to her!" A shout sounded from the fourth group, belonging to a middle-aged man. After this shout, there were many more that were similar to this one.

Once Liya got close enough to the two corpses, they moved and out of them leapt out two goblins each and they were mostly covered in blood.

Moving her eyes from the first airborne goblin to the second to the third and to the fourth, Liya made an educated guess which would be the first one to land on the ground and moved to its landing spot.

The goblin that she waited for landed on the ground.

The three other goblins landed on the ground, two of them locked their eyes on the large group of humans and shouted out.

"Humans! *Kikiki!* Humans!"

"Humans! *Kikiki!* Humans!"

And the last goblin locked his eyes on Liya and shouted out.
