Draig awoke with a start looking around him quickly to find the man from before, however his search came up fruitless. He did on the other hand find the note that was left which had done something to quell his temper.

"But why" thought Draig as he looked at the note and the books.

His suspicions grew but Draig was actually a bit interested in the books, he liked that he could have a manual for his cla.s.s as his Vampire powers did not come with one. Draig had learned his abilities from instinct, it was literally in his blood but the urge to channel a power rarely came.

Shaking his head to clear his thoughts Draig began reading but as he got further and further his eyes began narrowing soon a day had pa.s.sed and the first book was discarded in a corner.

"So it seems there is a bit more to this enchanter nonsense" thought Draig as he dedicated the book"s contents to memory.

A useful little side gimmick Vampires had, were there eyes capable of casting illusions and even able to stun people for brief moments. However there was a bit more to it, for some reason that had yet to discovered was why Vampires could memorize things so easily but speculation pointed towards their eyes being the source.

Draig unaware of what was happening had started to understand that his first step in enchanting would be developing his own form of code or alphabet, despite how easy this task sounded it was actually quite a bit more difficult. His letters and symbols had to flow together smoothly in order for the energy to flow through unhindered and maximize an enchantment"s effect.

This was a key aspect of being an enchanter, as using the common language would allow others to decipher and break any enchantments Draig would use.

"But I don"t even know where to start" thought Draig as grit his teeth in annoyance.

"Use something close to home" came the sudden voice.

Draig looked all around himself thinking it was the man from before but found no one.

"I am not one to be trifled with" stated Draig as he cut his eyes around the room one more time.

"Of course, young Feratu. I am aware of what you are capable of better than any other" came the voice again.

"Show yourself" growled Draig as a wispy figure rose from his shadow.

"You have asked Young Feratu and you have received" answered the figure.

"I suppose you could say we are family, though quite distant" answered the figure.

"Then who are you to me, what is your name" demanded Draig suspiciously.

"I think it would be fitting to say I am your great grandfather, as for my name. I was once called Dracule." answered Dracule.

"What did you mean before, when you said use something close to home" asked Draig warily as he watched Dracule closely.

"You can be at ease my boy, if I wanted to harm you I would have done so before now when you were unaware." snorted Dracule with a bit amus.e.m.e.nt dancing in his eyes.

Hearing the truth in this statement Draig eased up a bit but still watched Dracule closely.

Dracule mentally approved before continuing his words.

"You ask what I mean by something close to home, tell me what is closer to home than your lineage." smiled Dracule in playful manner.

"Speak clearly old man" growled Draig

"The answer is simple, I will teach you the ancient language of your forefathers. This way no one will be able to decipher your scribbles, that is to say no one living." stated Dracule as he revealed his intent.

"The language of my forefathers, I"m not concerned with the origin but if it will give me an edge over these mortals than I"ll do it" answered Draig as he locked eyes with Dracule"s wispy form.

"Excellent then let us begin." commanded Dracule.

Thus the two began a relations.h.i.+p of student and teacher, Draig thrived from the opportunity to learn directly under someone else"s tutelage. The information he absorbed quickly but still the amount of letters in the olden alphabet made for a time consuming task.

Soon Dracule had spent nearly a year teaching Draig the ancient language of the Vampires, and now the young Vampire was ready to begin the next phase of mastering his cla.s.s.

"So the book says I need to be specific in the meaning so as to get the proper effect, but what should I try it out on" asked Draig as he turned towards the wispy shadow of Dracule.

"I am sure it doesn"t matter, I have seen many items become enchanted. I knew one Vampire who was blessed with incredible strength however he was so strong he couldn"t use tableware thus he commissioned for a special set to be made that could bare his strength. It made for a boring dinner after that but I a.s.sure that is does not matter what you enchant as long as the ability is what you intended" explained Dracule before he quickly dispersed.

"Oh look who is all awake now, so leech brat how far have you come along with those books" came the voice of Zarra from nowhere.

Draig didn"t say anything and just kept pondering on what he should test his ability on.

"Have you enchanted anything yet" asked Zarra walking towards Draig.

"Go away, I am trying to practice" stated Draig casting his eyes towards the cloaked man.

"Touchy, touchy, I bet all your friends think your the life of the party" shot Zarra before dodging a clawed strike.

"Leave me be. I don"t have time to waste with you." snarled Draig quickly shooting a fast kick towards Zarra"s ribs that was caught by the cloaked man.

"Is that how you thank someone that did you a favor" asked Zarra as he pulled out a rolled up piece of paper before tossing it with unexpected force towards Draig, the usually insignificant object carried enough force to actually knock the Vampire off his feet.

"What is this" asked Draig taking a second glance at the cloaked man.

"Why don"t you open it and find out" snorted the mage before disappearing through a rift.

Draig unrolled the paper and found it to be a deed, if he was to a.s.sume correctly then it would be the deed to this farmhouse and some of the surrounding land.

Suddenly a loud rumble came from outside causing Draig to run outside and the sight before him shocked him beyond words, all around his newly acquired land was a wall and above it was a barrier that would keep him from escaping.

"What is this" snarled Draig in a rage.

"Oh this? Well some of the inhabitants of the normal crowd have been fearing for their safety now that a Vampire has a System so we have taken certain measures to a.s.sure that the surrounding populace feels safe. On the bright side I have arranged for you to be able to roam about but there will be a curfew on you." explained Zarra but the mage seemed to be just beginning though as he seemed to want to say something else but didn"t.

Quickly leaving through a rift the mage was once again gone leaving Draig there to stare at his new situation.

"Spiteful creatures, we are living just like them yet just because our necessities to survive are a bit different than theirs we are treated as animals.....like Monsters" growled Dracule.

Draig couldn"t help but feel it was contagious because the old Vampire"s words struck a chord in him.

"I"ll make them pay" thought Draig as he returned to the Farmhouse.

The world didn"t know what it had created but only time would truly tell if his words would come true.
