The moment Crystal"s twenty sword wielding skeleton had been summoned she immediately gave them an order."Attack!" She screamed, before swinging the brig"s door open, expecting to be able to now completely overwhelm the enemy.
What she was met with however, upon opening said door, was a large three headed skeletal monster, charging in her direction, and her now one-armed lich doing her best to block its path with her own body.
"Dammit, swarm them!" She commanded her new skeletons as she grabbed the lich and pulled her back into the room.
Crystal"s troops easily wiped out the remaining ten enemy skeletons, which had both inferior numbers and weapons, but could do little more than distract the big one.
With each swing of its arms, one of Crystal"s skeletons would be sent flying... and it had six arms to swing with.
Crystal quickly repaired her lich"s arm using nearly a third of her remaining DP, and then spun said lich around to face herself.
"So, any ideas on how to beat that thing?" she asked the lich hopefully.
"Not enough... power," said the lich as she shook her head in response, she too realized that Crystal"s skeletons stood no chance against the enemy creature.
"Dungeon consultant, same question!?" She asked, turning away from the lich as she did so.
"Converting all resources to DP and then spending it all on skeleton and hope for the best...? Or break through the side of the ship, abandon your dungeon, and retreat?"
"That sounds like a really flimsy plan," thought Crystal, "what if they chase us?"
"If only I had more creatures unlocked than skeletons, goblins, and bullet crabs," she complained, prompting a sudden idea.
"Power... breakthrough... bullet crabs," she mumbled before screaming out the answer she had come up with... "the cannon!"
She peered out the door towards the right side of the ship, just past the flailing monster"s location, at the place just below where she had fallen through the floor, at the cannon.
It currently lay upside down, facing towards the front of the ship, perpendicular to the location of the battle.
"Lich, where is the gunpowder for the cannons!?" She excitedly yelled the question to the lich.
The answer she received, however, was less than rea.s.suring.
"What is... gunpowder...?" She questioned back in her raspy voice.

Crystal literally facepalmed at that answer, after all, what kind of pirate didn"t know what gunpowder was?
"Um... well... it"s the powdery stuff you put in the cannon, followed by the cannon ball, and then you-..." she began explaining, but gave up when she realized that the lich had no idea what she was talking about, "Whatever... It doesn"t matter. just tell me how you make the cannons shoot."
The lich then took a moment to think of the most efficient way to answer the question.
"...Magic," the lich said a moment later, "...from material... like monster cores... or your own body... if you know magic... put it into the symbol near the back.... the more magic there is... makes it stronger"
Crystal nodded before turning away to direct another question to the consultant.
"Can I store things while outside of the dungeon, in my normal avatar form?" she asked quickly.
The consultant took a moment to think this time before answering, "...If you spend two trait points to purchase "s.p.a.cial Manipulation" trait, then yes, the "Inventory" skill would then be added to your "Avatar," and "True Avatar" forms, otherwise, the answer is no."
"Alright, awesome, purchase the "Spatial Manipulation" trait," she said before turning back to the lich, ignoring the corresponding message"s appearance, "do you have any cores?"
The lich responded by quickly picking up one of the bisected skeleton skulls from the ground and plucking a small black marble like thing from within it.
She then handed it to Crystal before motioning to the surrounding dead skeletons as well.
"just these," she said.
[Name: Skeleton core
Affinity: Darkness
Quality: Rank E]
"I see, well I can just buy some more anyway," said Crystal, presuming that that was indeed the case, "I"ll go get the cannon, you put my core somewhere safe, before joining the skeletons in distracting him- it... good luck."
Crystal then switched out of her true avatar form, and into her normal avatar form, her own core appearing in her hands as she did so.
She quickly handed it over to the lich before dashing out of the room.
Crystal, ran straight towards the enemy monster, and her remaining ten skeletons which surrounded it.
The remaining ten, having retrieved the cutla.s.ses of their kin which had fallen, were now each duel-wielding swords, allowing them to now somewhat endure the attacks made by the strange creature.
"Nice job guys!" Crystal yelled as she dashed past them towards the fallen cannon, narrowly dodging a kick from the large creature.
Upon reaching it, she immediately faced her hand towards it and declared the skill"s name in her mind, "inventory!"
The cannon quickly vanished from the spot and Crystal could feel it enter her inventory.
"Such a fantasy-like skill," she thought briefly, admiring the tropes of the genre she had reincarnated into.
She then turned around, once again dashing past the brawl, this time receiving a large slash along her right arm.
"Ugh!" she grunted as she once again moved out of the creatures range.
"You dare!?" Screamed the lich in anger, taking the opportunity to sever the offending arm which had caused the damage, though it immediately reformed a moment later.
Crystal noticed as she ran by, that the lich had at some point removed both her hat and her coat, perhaps for mobility reason.
Upon reaching her dungeon territory once again, Crystal immediately brought out the cannon, already aimed towards the site of the confrontation.
"Everyone fall back!" She yelled as she slammed the skeleton core down on the symbol"s location, despite not really knowing how it worked.
In response to which, the cannon made a brief "powering up" sound, as a small ball of darkness formed at the end of cannon"s barrel.
Then, half a second later, as the core crumbled to dust, the ball of darkness vanished, being replaced by a beam of energy about a foot across.
Her minions, which had only just stepped away from the creature, narrowly avoided the beam which had blasted a hole right through the centre of the creature.
It, however, did not fall, and merely turned all three of its heads towards Crystal as the hole repaired itself in an instant.
"Ah.. well that doesn"t bode well," Crystal said, upon making eye contact with the creature, "I think I made it angry."
Crystal was indeed correct in her observation, the creature was now very angry at her.
The creature promptly charged towards Crystal"s location, ignoring the slashes it received from her minions, as they could not do much damage anyway... but a cannon certainly could.
"No you don"t!" yelled the lich as she clung herself onto the beast"s legs.
The other allied skeletons, seeing this, all clung onto its legs as well.
"Graaaah!" The creatures heads screamed together as it attempted to continue its charge.
"Eh, um, sell everything I have stored!" Crystal commanded after a moment of panic, "then purchase the most expensive core I can afford!"

"Eh, no way!?" She yelled in frustration, "how am I supposed to power the cannon without a bigger-!?"
Crystal, however, then suddenly remembered something important.
"Wait I"m technically a core too, aren"t I?" She contemplated quickly, she then turned to look at the place where the lich had set her core.
It was nestled snugly in the corner, cushioned from the hard floor by the lich"s coat, and protected from projectiles by her hat.
Crystal hadn"t even noticed when the lich had done such a thing as she was so focused on her avatar for the past minute or so.
"Well that explains that," she said, as she quickly grabbed the core and immediately brought it back to the cannon, referring to the lich"s missing attire that she had noticed.
Then, like she had done with the skeleton"s core, Crystal quickly slammed her own core down on cannon"s symbol, needing both hands to be able to do so this time.
"So long as I remove it before it disappears it should be fine, right?" she said unconvincingly, "I mean, how bad can it be?"
Those words were followed by the most painful feeling she had ever experienced, like being stabbed with a dozen blades of frozen acid, which were somehow also electrified and on fire, far worse than even her experience with the wolves.
She immediately regretted her words...
Thankfully, at least, the cannon then began charging properly, a small ball of energy once again appearing at the end of its barrel, this one bright pink rather than black.
It continued to charge for a total of ten seconds, during which the skeletal monster continued to drag its self forwards, along with the eleven other skeletal beings which were currently clinging to it.
"Ugh!" Crystal grunted as she held the core in place, having to do so herself made the whole experience so much worse.
Finally, upon reaching the tenth second, just as the creature arrived within four metres of the cannon, Crystal felt the core go almost completely empty, thus she quickly removed it from the symbol.
"Now, everyone dodge!" Crystal warned before collapsing on the spot, protecting her core with her arms as she fell.
Her minions obeyed, releasing the monsters legs and moving to either side of it as quickly as possible.
The skeletal creature, stumbling due to the sudden shift in weight, ended up falling and landing directly in front of the cannon"s barrel at almost the exact moment that it fired, leaving it completely unable to dodge.
The monster, in that moment, was completely vaporized in beam of brilliant pink light and deafening sound, along with most of the cargo behind it.
But that was not where the destruction ended, the front end of the ship, the island on which said ship existed, much of the ocean, and even some of the sky, in that moment, were all completely bisected in two... for as far as the eye could see.

Crystal then fell unconscious.
